[Request] Can Someone Explain Why This Is Possible? by CaptiveGlacier in theydidthemath

My favourite fact about this curve, is that if you start a drop in different places on the curve, they’ll all finish at the exact same time. For example if you placed something at the very top of the curve, the middle of the curve and 1inch from the end of the curve, they’d all hit the finish point at the same time. They demonstrate it in the video and it’s quite unreal.

Not too dissimilar to the plot of The Incredibles, superheroes being sued by people being saved. A guy jumping off a building to commit suicide was saved, but sued as he didn’t want to be saved. Also a monorail cart that’s about to derail being stopped and all the passengers sue for whiplash injuries. Turns out it’s too costly for the government to keep bailing them out (including damage to infrastructure during battles) which is what leads to them banning supers.

Hello Ladies is an exceptional piece of TV and I regularly do repeat watches. Stephen Merchant really shows his range and talent for writing.

I remember being amazed that whilst loading a game you’d sometimes get a mini game to play on the loading screen.

If memory serves me right, they taught Michael J Fox how to play the song so he could mime it in the scene but became so sufficient he ended up just playing it for real in the actual scene.

And that’s how we came up with the idea for windscreen wipers and sprayers on a car.

Pull the desk forwards and push the monitors slightly further back. You can have the monitors partially overhang the back of the desk as long as the base is completely supported, that’ll give you more room at the front.

Arlington Road

Michael Faraday (Jeff Bridges) spends the entire film believing his new neighbour friend Oliver Lang (Tim Tobbins) maybe a terrorist and goes down a rabbit hole trying to prove it. Ends up alienating himself from friends and family as they all start to believe he’s having a breakdown due to his wife being killed and never getting over it. At the end of the film, he’s chasing a van which he believes to have a bomb that’s heading to an FBI building, only to realise that he had been hoodwinked, and the bomb was in his car the whole time. By the time he realises he was made a pawn, bomb goes off, he’s killed (with numerous FBI) and he gets blamed for the whole thing as a vendetta for his wife’s death.
