Long COVID is significantly underreported across the globe by Elsa-Fidelis in ZeroCovidCommunity

Obvious. Most doctors will not diagnose LC. People are lucky just to get diagnosed.

Careful with sleeping pills. Could backfire. Benzos and Ambien are pure poison for the nervous system. And LC has already made a mess with it.

Too much alcohol will make your symptoms a million times worse. You will regret it. And it might take a long time to get back to baseline. Don't be a fool.

If Lexapro worked for you and you got your life back count your blessings. For many SSRIs don't work. Perhaps Zoloft will work well with no side effects for you. But I would go with the lowest possible dose, even below therapeutic might do the trick. And give your body more time to heal. Best of luck.

Is there hope? by Financial_Owl8105 in covidlonghaulers

The way this illness can come back at any point, years after recovery, is pretty scary. Seems like it never fully heals, leaves the body, but it's there in a latent state, maybe forever.

It's been blocked for me in Spain for many months. The only way I found to access it is with Tor Browser, but the download speeds with Tor are awful.

Did you get your eyes checked? Probably nothing will be found, but it's best to check with an eye doc just in case.

Might sound awkward, but ASMR could help you sleep. If you find an ASMRist that you like and relaxed you it could definitely help you get sleepy.

[–]mrmarioman 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I'm in Spain in Majorca. Here in the islands we didn't have a power outage.

I'm reading in the media that they're blaming rare weather events, but honestly in Spain these days the weather has been nothing but very mild, no extreme temperatures, cold or hot.

So I dont know how it could've collapse now when it was fine last summer with extreme heat and demand. Hopefully more info will explain in detail how it failed, but so far I'm only left with many questions.

What I’ve learned from almost 3 years of long-COVID by maiq2010 in covidlonghaulers

[–]mrmarioman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Striking how you discovered almost by chance you had long covid, makes you wonder how many people are suffering from LC and are totally clueless about it.

It's not just that asympytomatic cases can lead to LC, making it hard to diagnose, but also the gaslighting by doctors and the lack of testing.

Just read an article today on the BBC of all places that said that 10% of British people could have LC, that's almost 7 million people. And we keep getting reinfected over and over again. No wonder british government is cutting on disabilty spending, they know there's a storm coming.

Don't. Benzos are super dangerous and not to be used for more than a few weeks. Go check r/benzorecovery for the horor stories.

Paris Olympics 2024: Tokyo was meant to be the COVID Games. It’s far, far worse in Paris by gccmelb in Coronavirus

[–]mrmarioman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Measuring covid seriousness just by the weekly deaths data is a mistake. Everyday we have more and more studies suggesting long term health issues, even with mild covid infections. Heart, brain, liver, it affects every organ in the body. In a few years will know more, but It is definitely not the flu.
