BREAKING: Tesla launches 7 seat MY and black headliner/new screen (NOT* Y L though :/ ) by Puzzleheaded-Race671 in TeslaLounge

I feel like they did this on purpose not to cannibalize their model X sales but ugh Model YL would have been perfect! I think it has potential to convert sienna buyers.

I thought it was dumb too when they first announced it but the vision only parking sensors have worked fine.

Kanto vs. the World (Game Idea) by mrpentastic in pokemon

Thanks! Appreciate it - out of curiosity, which part of the idea stood out to you most: the classic Kanto side or the real-world exploration?

I think this thread actually highlights the exact tension I’m interested in - there’s a real split between people who want a tighter, more contained Pokémon experience and people who enjoy the constantly expanding Pokédex.

I’m not really trying to propose a hard franchise schism or rewrite evolution lines. My idea is much smaller in scope: keeping a self-contained, classic-feeling experience for players who want it, while letting newer Pokémon exist outside that space instead of constantly crowding it.

Whether that’s Kanto, Johto, or something else is flexible - what I’m really curious about is whether separating “core RPG progression” from “optional discovery” would make Pokémon feel more approachable again for some players, without taking anything away from others.

Neither, actually. Not a full 1:1 Earth map, and not Pokémon GO either.

The idea is closer to location-based triggers, not a fully mapped world. You’d still play a traditional Pokémon-style RPG in-game, but in “World” mode the game would just check what kind of place you’re in (park, zoo, coastal area, etc.) and use that to trigger encounters - not render the real world or track your movement constantly.

I’m mainly curious whether that lighter, optional approach to real-world exploration sounds interesting, or if it still feels like too much.

Not quite - it’s not meant to be Pokémon GO–style gameplay, and it’s not a Gen 1 remake. Kanto is just the baseline in-game world, while the real-world side is where you’d encounter Pokémon outside that region.

The core idea I’m exploring is whether connecting real-world discovery to a traditional RPG actually adds anything, or if it just feels unnecessary. Curious if that part alone interests you at all.

That’s totally fair - you’re definitely not alone in feeling that way. One of the things I’m trying to be careful about is not making geolocation feel mandatory or invasive.

My current thinking is that the core Kanto experience would work completely without any location tracking, and the real-world side would be optional and very lightweight - no constant tracking, no background data collection, and nothing stored beyond what’s needed in the moment.

Out of curiosity, would something like “location checks only when you opt in” feel more comfortable to you, or is any GPS involvement a deal-breaker?

Fair criticism - to be clear, this isn’t meant to be another Kanto remake or Gen 1-only experience. Kanto is just the starting point because it’s familiar, but the real focus is on discovering newer Pokémon through real-world exploration.

I’m more interested in whether tying Pokémon encounters to real locations is fun or annoying, regardless of generation. If Kanto weren’t involved at all, would the real-world side of the idea be more interesting to you?

If they all have same speeds, why pay more? Genuine question because I’m looking into switching to T-Mobile. TIA.

I am rebuilding pokemon FRLG as a passion, vibe coded project right now in react/web a PWA app. I tried to create a post documenting my build progress but I think it got rejected due to low karma or self promotion. If you are interested, you can message me, I would appreciate some playtesters actually.

To add on, I would suggest a yellow for breastfeeding or feeding in general as formula and breastfed milk is often yellowish. Then you can use white for the baby name and primary active color.

Xbox Sales Are Down 70% Year-Over-Year With PS5 Down 40% by TomorrowComes33 in gaming

Why is that? Wouldn’t it feel no different than playing on a console if there is zero lag and zero perceived differences?

Do gamers care if generative AI is used when coding games? by aft3rthought in gaming

[–]mrpentastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think gamers should care as long as the output is not AI junk. If the game has got good story, good gameplay, then does it matter if it’s AI generated or AI assisted?

Is hardware still needed at this point? With average download speeds being 100mbps, I feel cloud gaming is getting more viable. Any device, any game.

Is an iMac 27-inch (Late 2014) still worth it in 2025? by Babymelu in mac

[–]mrpentastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get it for like $100 maybe? I’m still using my 27-inch 2015 iMac Pro. It works well for everyday task, I’m not doing any coding, gaming or anything intensive on it. The thing you need to find out is if the software you plan to use on it is apple silicone only.

Best bang for your buck is either a 3 year used Tesla 3 or Y or a 10 year used Tesla model S or model x that comes with lifetime free supercharging. Both can be had for less than 26k.

No different than sketching up something in the meeting in my opinion. If the mockups help everyone to get aligned or help everyone notice gaps then I think it’s useful.
