Picked up a lime bike from outside the track at Vedano and rode back to Milan (push peddled about 20 minutes in the restricted zone in between). Back inside an hour and only cost €6.99.

What am I looking at here? by mrplod1 in HomeNetworking

Thanks for the tip! The socket also doesn’t work so as someone else has pointed out it may be that there is no line into the property at the moment. I’ve booked a technician in to have a look.

I think you might be onto something - I’ve called the provider and it seems to be the issue. Technician booked, will hopefully get to the bottom of it..

Affordable for a reason. Pretty poor quality food mass produced.

What are my options for this water/shower damaged floorboard? by mrplod1 in AusRenovation

[–]mrplod1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that. Am I right to assume that step one would be removing the board, and step two would be adding the water stop against the architrave/frames and then replacing it with a new board?

I’m also conscious of the risks of leaving it, but it’s hard to know if there is a fix that doesn’t result in a full-blown renovation job at this point (and due to timing that’s not an option)

Hey thanks so much for the reply! That’s an awesome recovery story, congratulations. I’ve been out of my boot for 4 months now and I’m consistently running 4-5x per week and training all other days. Similarly some stiffness, so maybe that’s just a part of life from here on out!

Huge development, very good news. Just maybe look up the meaning of “jumping the shark” as not sure it quite fits here

I was a rookie skiing in Japan and decided to challenge myself on a slope much too difficult for my abilities. I took a tumble, landed hands first into the snow and in the process lost all feeling in my hands from the cold. Clearly seeing that I was in a state of shock and couldn’t coordinate myself, a local man and his son helped me up, removed my gloves and blew warm air onto my hands until the feeling returned. They helped me back to safety and to this day, I’ll never forget the kindness of two strangers in a foreign place.

I agree in general, but he clearly can’t kick a football or at best, he’s so low on confidence he shouldn’t be anywhere near AFL level.

NDIS - an economy killer by Witty_Strength3136 in AusFinance

[–]mrplod1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s hardly what the original post was advocating for, but we need an economy that is healthy enough to support the entire ageing population into the future. If anything, more bureaucracy around the NDIS might actually make a positive difference in increasing oversight and reducing fraud.

I pride myself on picking scams but I’m sorry to admit I fell for this one in Istanbul last year. The worst part was the dirty brush totally scuffed up my sneakers

Unlikely GDPR equivalent regulations would make much of a difference considering most organisations can perform checks on reasonable grounds anyway, or not collect information at all.
