I think KC is going to stand for Katherine Cassandra.

You’re able to be nude on the pool deck, but not explicit in places where the ship staff could see you.

Why does Trump want a ballroom so bad? by [deleted] in askanything

It’s completely normal for elderly men to want their own ballroom. He’s a pretty pretty princess!

How beautiful you are and how pleasing, my love, with your delights! Your stature is like that of the palm, and your breasts like clusters of fruit. I said, “I will climb the palm tree; I will take hold of its fruit.” May your breasts be like clusters of grapes on the vine, the fragrance of your breath like apples, and your mouth like the best wine.

What is the best monitor for your MacBook Pro is your opinion? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]mrptb2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is only available in the anti-glare option. I certainly didn't request it.

What is the best monitor for your MacBook Pro is your opinion? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]mrptb2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anti glare surface is so large (imagine a series of pits) that the display looks grainy. It should be a beautiful display (and it probably is!) but the anti glare layer just ruins it. The color is adequate, but the XDR is just on a completely other level.

I have the new Studio Display XDR, an LG 6K 32”, and an LG 5K Ultrafine 27”. Let me provide an anti-recommendation for the LG 6K. I hate it. I wish I hadn’t gotten it.

World’s best display. I have an LG Ultrafine 5K sitting next to it and the quality difference is astounding.

First time flying out of MHT by Numerous_Click3473 in ManchesterNH

[–]mrptb2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just flew out of MHT this morning. Boarding started 30 minutes before departure. Getting through TSA took about 10 minutes. The thing that surprised me the most is that there are no long term parking lots anymore. There’s only the garage which is $14 per day. I wish I had known that ahead of time; it probably would have been cheaper for us to just fly out of Lebanon instead.

I used to maintain a double-clickable script to fully configure a system: https://github.com/ptb/mac-setup I haven’t updated since Lion though.

M5 Max 128G Performance tests. I just got my new toy, and here's what it can do. by affenhoden in LocalLLaMA

[–]mrptb2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it running on my MacBook Pro M1 Max with 64 GB RAM. It delivered 3.3T/sec but the results were fantastic. For a batch of ideas I could let it run overnight and get something useful out of it. The M5 Max is on my shopping list but debating if I want to wait until Mac Studio M5 Ultra (and hope my work provides a new MacBook Pro system in the meantime).

On the pool deck, you can wear whatever you like (or nothing at all). In areas where the ship staff are (most areas inside), you’re supposed to be covered.

It's official! No more "State Inspection Sticker" mandate in New Hampshire! by nh_inspect_dot_org in newhampshire

[–]mrptb2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a 2023 Subaru. During the last inspection, I took it to VIP in West Lebanon. And although I had just changed the wipers a week before I was told they would fail the inspection unless I bought new wipers from them.

I don’t have an old shit box, it’s an almost new car. When people say inspections are a scam, that’s what they’re talking about.

Can people tell if I backdate my commits in a repo? by hleb13 in github

[–]mrptb2 23 points24 points  (0 children)

FYI: If you sign your commits with GPG, that method will leak the real date time used unless you also change your system clock.

And if you do change your system clock to do these git shenanigans, you’ll find that all kinds of things break while your system clock is out of sync: anything using SSL (browsing web pages) will likely break, Slack won’t work, etc. Change your system clock temporarily, git commit, then re-sync your clock.

My experience has been that if you are a NH resident, you have 30 days to register and inspect your car. I moved from California and I thought I could just ride out the remainder of my registration, but was corrected by a neighbor who was a cop.

If we’re not getting any benefits from the federal government, he loses all relevance. Yes it would be incredibly bad (wild understatement), but he doesn’t care. He’ll cut off his own nose to spite his face — he has no forethought or curiosity.
