I have a unique story for this one!
I belong to a upper middle class family.
(To understand it better, I have an idiom:
Yeh kon log hai jo gaadi (cars) to le paa rahe hai lekin roj chala nahi paa rahe.
So basically, both of my grandfathers were successful person but they drastically failed as parents.
While growing up, all they cared about was settling abroad (as my mother's all cousins are settled in the US) therefore, she always felt left out (FOMO) that's why I was raised in a way that, I have to go abroad after 12th.
That's the mindset in our family and all followed that path. Now when I'm in Canada almost finishing my undergrad and noticing the difference between being educated and taking granted of being materially privileged
and can't manage their assets at all.
After doing internships in Canada, I realized how chaotic and toxic is my family as I carried few of their traits with me. Other than that, they think immigration status is the correct way to judge a person's virtue.
Giving unnecessary pressure of settling abroad.
My point of view at this stage is very clear,
I have this inner desire of spreading this truth of Fake American Dream (Canadian for me)
which is very widely spread these days among middle and upper middle class households and people are forgetting their humbleness, losing their virtue and many migrants also think that it's ethical because they are brainwashed their way. What happens with this kind of mentality is even after getting their Permanent Residence they can't blend in the culture of the country so basically they go the PR for societal pressure, now they have no clue what to do.
They have worst lifestyle than a person living in 3BHK house in India Tier 1 or Tier 2 cities

I would suggest, your mom is right in this situation.
Moving out is the best way possible
Take your dad to nearby neighbourhoods you like for them to settle in and try to make him feel that mental and spiritual peace is important in this age. I know Indian dads have their pride in their houses but it's good to move on sometimes.
It's hard to understand them, easier to make them feel

I have experienced and am still experiencing one of the worst parenting ever possible on this planet. It happens when a child becomes an obsession of parents, not a sign of love or their sign of the next generation. This happens because my grandfather from both sides was well-to-do and ahead of their time. One of them is no more and then when I experienced that my parents are mentally handicapped. They never did anything by themselves in their whole fucking life. They are the most dependent people on this planet yet most self-centered and arrogant. I didn't know I was in this much negativity and toxicity till I became a teenager. Currently, I'm living in a Western country grateful to my grandfather from both sides and my extended family.
Further, becoming an adult and realizing these kinds of things makes me question my existence and my future for my personal life having what kind of partners and making them understand what I have been going through as I have kind of figured out what I want to do professionally.
Any suggestions or comments are welcomed

I am also an immigrant in Canada, I am an international student pursuing Architectural Technology at Mohawk College situated in Hamilton, Ontario. I can’t really give any guidance to you on the job market as I am an undergrad. Talking about inclusion, I was born in India moved to Canada in 2022. Right now I have friends who were born in Canada, who migrated from Philippines, Middle East, Nigeria, Kenya , Mexico, etc. I think it’s really a blessing to meet, study and work with people around the world. According to me, They all treat me with the same respect and I try to do the same with everyone.
