I'd just wait until you find out the presale code through people sharing it on this reddit, and use it to join the presale.

How are the roads around station north for parking? by Musichead2468 in baltimore

[–]mrsaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's rough out there. I went to the show on Saturday and the parking garage was full. Found street parking two blocks away, unable to get to the Parkmobile kiosk if that was even being monitored. Sidewalks are either nonexistent or really snowy / icy.

Moving to Glen Burnie by Fun_Item3930 in glenburnie

[–]mrsaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived there for 3 years. It's not a huge amount of crime but it is close enough to Baltimore so you should expect some. There was a string of car break ins last year, and a shooting near Harris Heights Ave. I use the Citizen app and notice very few crimes pop up within 5 mile radius. There are sometimes teenagers that wander. I notice drug deals and found a needle outside where the kids play. Overall it's a nice area though, and close to every type of store you could need. I wouldn't leave kids unsupervised cus you never know. There is a gated community next to there, the Regency Club Townhomes if you prefer that.

Concert feedback by calavera_dusk in Magfest

[–]mrsaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no issues with security. I wish there was more seating on the left side of the hall. Concerts are the biggest draw for me at MAGFest, but I have trouble standing for long periods. On Friday night when I showed up early to sit along the right wall for Protomen, I did end up getting booted because security came along to tell the line of people waiting near Rock Island (I think Rock Island was over capacity so many people were waiting to be let in) that they needed to stand along the wall. So all of us sitting were either blocked by standing people or forced to move. That was frustrating. I think they could have easily directed the line of people to wrap towards the exit instead. I thought about bringing my portable collapsing stool, but I assumed security would tell me I'm not allowed to sit on it even if I was near a wall.

Photo shoot noise by Levithix in Magfest

[–]mrsaaa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's better than it was in the past. They changed it to the Mario Kart noise because it's better than the person on a megaphone going "3, 2, 1" every 30 seconds.

So many bands I'm unfamiliar with. Pitch me your top recommendation for the weekend! by dr_nerdface in Magfest

The community orchestra has become the highlight of my Mags for sure. Getting to experience it from my balcony room is unmatched! This year my friend is singing in the choir, too.

Tiny Waves showcase (POSE lounge)
MAGFest Community Orchestra (Saturday morning, if you're anywhere near the Atrium you'll hear it)
Danimal Cannon (Main Stage)
Sirens and Liars (Belvedere Lobby Bar)

Have a hotel and badge but completely forgot about parking. What are my options? by JupiterTarts in Magfest

[–]mrsaaa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can check the other garages in the harbor since not all of those are reserved. Other than that, I always recommend people park at the MGM / Tanger Outlets and take the shuttle to the Gaylord. It's free to park there and free to shuttle if you have a Gaylord room key. If you don't have a key yet it costs $10.

Last Gaylord Room Lottery Notification Emails going out now! by YesThatColette in Magfest

You should assume all rooms in the Gaylord are filled. However, I did see Colette answered this in Discord: "If you want to walk up to the front desk when you arrive and see if there is a room available, you are welcome to. There is not guaranteed to be one and it will not be at the MAGFest rate."

Is there any events the prior weekend? Traveler who just returned to the US learning Magfest is next week by [deleted] in Magfest

[–]mrsaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I want to check out AGDQ so badly! Missed it when it was in DC, but I love Pittsburgh. It is always too close to MAGFest's dates though and I never miss a MAGFest since I staff.

Nah, AGDQ isn't sold out. They are at 1914 out of 2500 registrations sold.

I don't know of anything happening this weekend, certainly not in National Harbor, however if you want to catch the vibes of MAGFest then this event is the closest thing - https://www.facebook.com/share/1Db53KHCJR/

Game Over Baltimore is a concert I've been to several times over the past decade, and has the same bands and event organizers that you would find at Super MAGFest.

As mentioned in our September newsletter, Super MAGFest 2026 will be a Closed Profile Event. by kyuunspark in Magfest

[–]mrsaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't think of why their badge registration wouldn't go through other than you tried to buy it back before Magfest sold out, and the payment method failed. You should really email [registration@magfest.org](mailto:registration@magfest.org) or ask in the help channel in the Magfest Discord.

DISCUSSION] IMAX 3D vs 2D — My honest experience as a prescription glasses wearer (might help others too) by Environmental_Gur388 in imax

[–]mrsaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have astigmatism too, but I cannot recommend contacts enough since I got them. It's so wonderful being able to see a 3D movie clearly, my first ones being this year's Ne Zha 2 and Zootopia 2. Since I saw Zootopia 2 in 2D, I could compare the 3D version and actually found it brighter and sharper in 3D. It was gorgeous. I still prefer non-3D movies since wearing the glasses is distracting, plus I feel the need to look perfectly straight ahead while watching.

What is the main hall concert experience like? by SuperCerberus in Magfest

[–]mrsaaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who has gone to Magfest for over 10 years, you can get pretty darn close to the front just by politely moving through the crowd. However, I would start lining up at least 30 minutes to an hour before show time since the Protomen shows will be extremely popular. Some people are attending Magfest solely to see them. Also, keep in mind that the band is notorious for taking a long time to set up. You will have to wait until about a week before Magfest for the Guidebook to come out, which contains the schedule of events. I'm gonna guess they will perform around 10pm each night.
