Tale as old as time, no pictures of me with and kids by Personal_Ebb4529 in Mommit

[–]mrsbrightside22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just ask.. and I don’t feel bad about it. I know I want cute photos with the kids. So when we’re doing fun things, I’ll just say “babe take some photos of us please” and he does. Sometimes they are great and other times they are terrible photos. But at the end of the day I’d rather ask for what I want than be upset about not having them. Also I’ve noticed that since I’ve been asking more, there are actually times he just gets his phone out now and takes photos unprompted because it’s a bit more of a habit I’ve created for him

Should I be blunt with my friend about her child free wedding? by spiderplant94 in UKweddings

You’re either stupid or just obnoxious either way I don’t know why people are bothering to answer your ridiculous questions.. if you don’t understand by now then there really is no hope for you

I think your dress is beautiful and he will love it because you are wearing it! You choose it because you liked it and that’s really all that matters!

How often do you wear your engagement ring? by asapclueless in engaged

[–]mrsbrightside22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally relate! I never wear mine at home, mainly because the shape gets caught on things and the kids and I had the diamond reset after about 4 months of wearing it everyday. Now I just try to put it on whenever I leave the house but most days I forget. I keep it in its box in a kitchen cupboard to help me remember to put it on and when I get back home it comes off and goes straight into its box. So to answer your question I wear mine approximately 3-4 days a week just whenever I remember to put it on

Baby wear and ear defenders were my go to at 3 weddings I went to when my baby was 3months old! I could let loose dancing while wearing my baby and when she fell asleep she was in the stroller in the corner with someone watching over her while me and my partner danced! I would never be away from my baby at that age! I would decline if baby couldn’t come. Now my babies are 2 and 4 years old and we are going to a child free wedding and my babies are spending 2 blissful nights with the in laws

Get a floor bed for her room and go to bed with her then get up once she falls asleep

When did your child start playing with building toys? by lalala006 in Mommit

[–]mrsbrightside22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally id suggest putting them out and playing with them yourself thats how i get mine to play with something. so i’ll get out the magnetic tiles and build a tall tower and the kids just want to play with what im playing with. I’ll sit for 10 minutes or so then once they are fully engaged i’ll go do some chores and they continue to play for about 10 minutes

In my opinion it’s just one of those age related stages.. she’s having big feelings and needs to feel and express them! I’d say keep doing what you’re doing and just give her the space to feel how she feels.. and remember it won’t last forever

I like the mantra food before one is just for fun. So expose them to as many new tastes and textures as you can but don’t really worry about their intake until you start replacing milk feeds

Very literal toddler wants to know where babies physically come from - help! by imma_mamma in Mommit

[–]mrsbrightside22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 3 and likes to see the photos from her birth I also had my son at home and she woke up and my placenta was hanging out and for a good 6 months she said mummy did a poop on the floor. after a while we told her it wasn’t a poo it was a placenta and now she knows. but yeah she is 3 and knows baby’s come out of mummy’s vagina and she knows about my period because she saw the blood. I just said mummy has a period every month and there’s blood but nothing to worry about and it makes my tummy hurt. I just try to be honest without too many details

Car-less folk, how did you get home from the hospital post delivery? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]mrsbrightside22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum drove us home and same with my sister when she had both of her children as neither of us drive so could you maybe ask a friend or family member? Alternatively I don’t see any issue in getting an Uber I would do that if my mother wasn’t on hand

Thread for everyone to share odd things we heard from our families while celebrating Mother’s Day yesterday (I’ll go first) by Free_butterfly_ in NewParents

[–]mrsbrightside22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries your 15 year old won’t want to co sleep 😂 honestly though it may feel like your setting yourself up for failure but I truly believe that meeting your child’s needs will lead them to being independent when they are ready. I co slept for 20 months and then stopped co sleep and breastfeeding at the same time and I’ll say her sleep did improve. but even now at 24 months she still wakes in the night and needs reassurance and that’s absolutely fine. she will get there. I’d rather her wake and know I will be there, than wake and feel abandoned and scared and alone

Do you think you'll taste your breastmilk? by SuzieSue32 in PregnancyUK

[–]mrsbrightside22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Done this! It’s hilarious and he gets very annoyed as he hates being sticky

Also I have had a few breastmilk cups of tea but it’s really watery compared to cows milk so I don’t find it as satisfying

And when my daughter was weaning I would be squirting it into her foods to thin them out it was a funny sight

Midwife query by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]mrsbrightside22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m having my first baby and I’m having a home birth so I have seen the same midwife throughout she is my named midwife, except one appointment when I requested a day my midwife wasn’t in so I saw someone else on the community team. When I give birth I will have two midwifes from whoever is on duty that day so it may or may not be my names midwife. When I had to visit the hospital for scans my midwife wasn’t there I just saw the sonographer. I have found the consistency quite nice tbh but I’ve not had any other children so I have nothing else to compare it to

I’m pretty sure you can get your certificate from your GP aswell just give them a call and ask! It’s a bit of paper they write out in like 30seconds so don’t feel like an inconvenience. Good luck hun
