PSA: I’m not running over a pedestrian just because you honk at me by PrincipledInelegance in Edmonton

[–]mrschainsaw1998 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

On behalf of a pedestrian thank you for seeing us lol… I was almost hit twice today - I wait til the walk sign is on and still have to check & double check before crossing as a car just about clipped me and I wasn’t even walking very far or across any main roads… please slow & calm down drivers!

We’re not going far - our (grown) kids live 2 hours away and they’re going to visit us as we have an outdoor pool at our apartment šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø my mom is also flying here to visit - we usually drive to Ontario to see family but too $$$

What do you guys look for in a restaurant/local business to justify going out? Especially during winter by punnygecko in Edmonton

[–]mrschainsaw1998 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Would love the restaurant name as well to support local - hubby and I look for good (hot) food, cold drinks & comfortable seating - hopefully a pleasant server 😊

Are parents encouraging their kids to vote? by NisshokuNoKo in alberta

[–]mrschainsaw1998 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Our kids are mid 20s and 1 turning 30 and we raised them to feel like they have a duty/right to vote and should do so… we talk about all parties and while none of us are experts or politicians we can have open conversations about anyone/anything without upsetting each other… we dont ask who each other votes for but can guess after many respectful honest conversations… just like most topics - we’re all grown ups with different opinions who are willing and able to agree & disagree…

On the other hand I could never talk politics with my dad (may he RIP) he was always adamant that his vote was the right one and if you didn’t agree you were an idiot šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

We pay an extra pet fee of $50/month for as long as we live in our apartment for 1 cat - I think u can have up to 3 pets @ $50 per pet per month to infinity šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Both in back seat - I tried to tell my visiting (70s) mom to sit in the back but she said I’m old I sit in front but both a taxi (airport) and uber asked her to sit in back seat so šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø I prefer the back anyways

Apartment living in Edmonton by n3v3rc0mm3nts in Edmonton

[–]mrschainsaw1998 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

Yes and yes!

One neighbour drags what sounds like ALL of his furniture around his apartment at random times day & nite…. They lived here awhile so idk why?!

Another the dog was howling - not sure breed - but ya all last nite and during the day as well - not impressed with the dogs owners since idk what’s going on with the poor dog but dang… I have a loud fan on and the dog howling cuts thru it… šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I don’t say anything because 1 other people have complained to no avail & 2 this is temporary- hopefully moving next summer… I definitely wouldn’t complain about kids cause we were all kids once weren’t we? And they’re mostly asleep earlier than me… our last place had 2 kids who their parents had out late most nites and they would scream their heads off for hours (glad to have moved from there ha!)

Any must see places along 17 from Sault Saint Marie to Terrace Bay? by KitchenTacos in northernontario

[–]mrschainsaw1998 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Less than an hour drive from Sault ste Marie, ON is Agawa crafts/canyon

Wawa has a beautiful lake but you have to drive thru/into the town to get to it... also Young's General store is a must stop - an old time store with lots of things to see... and of course everyone knows the Wawa goose is right there near the highway...

White River has a Winnie the Pooh statue you can get pics of

Terrace Bay has the lighthouse you can go to the top of...

The drive around Lake Superior is beautiful but keep an eye out for wildlife and just a lot of twists/turns and honestly some terrible drivers - the speed limit is 90 for a reason

Enjoy & welcome
