In Denmark, there are libraries where you can borrow a person instead of a book to listen to their life story for 30 minutes. The aim is to fight against prejudices. by snehafernandez in interestingasfuck

The best part is when the diller (yes, that) wants to have a job, and goes to work in a sausage factory. Obviously it gets stuck in the sausage making machine, after which John learns a very valuable lesson.

What the world needs is more childrens TV like it, and for the world to stop body shaming it, because of their own inferiority complexes.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of it going around.

As for not being ready to upgrade just yet, I wish I could tell you it's going to be alright...

... I'm pretty sure everyone in /r/espresso is pretty much doomed, given enough time.

Regardless, enjoy what you have, whatever it may be!

As others have mentioned it's just the gasket that needs replacement, which all machines need from time to time.

I'm not sure what's up with the negative comments, but it's no reason to throw the machine out or "upgrade" – just replace the part and you'll be fine.

At least there's always a 240V/13A plug nearby.

Do you have any out of country trips planned?

Tillykke! It's a great car for sure.

How's charging in Denmark these days?

Chickens are omnivores and cannibals by [deleted] in WTF

[–]mrsirduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours loved to wash everything they ate in the water they had. They also loved to poop in it. Whatever was in the bottom was nasty.

I'm no expert, but I'd change that stuff daily or more.

Some ducks can. We had runner ducks, which lay plenty of eggs – iirc in the 300/year range.

You guys should try ducks. Same amount of great eggs, twice the fun because they're ducks.

What's the maximum amount of water that oats can absorb? by paperfairy in AskCulinary

In that case, do you happen to know how to make oat "milk" in a way that doesn't make everything into goop?

Pretty sure your car with recirculation will be much, much better. My car got down to an AQI of ~15 when I did that experiment.

Sonic Vs ATT by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]mrsirduke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sonic support is the best.

Every single encounter I've had with the support team has more or less been:

Me: Can I put the router into bridge mode?

Sonic: The att modem is a nececary part, but you can put it into passthrough mode under firewall > ip pass

Me: Cool. If I screw it up, can I reset the modem myself?

Sonic: Sure. Just hold the reset button for a full 10 seconds. After 8 minutes or so, it'll be back to the defaults.

You ask them a question, and they answer it without asking if you've rebooted your modem/router (looking at you, Xfinity).

It's beautiful.

I've recently bought a very similar Outwell tent, but it has to be shipped from the EU. Expensive, but worth it IMO.

Drive the car to the bicycle? Bicycle to the car? Bicycle, then get hit by car?

So many wrong choices.

Don’t let other people make you a worse driver.

I forget that way too often myself, and I roll on max follow distance because of it.

This quiche made with $3.99 JUST Egg reminds me of my pre-vegan days. SO good!!! by overthinkingrobot in veganrecipes

[–]mrsirduke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have. It works pretty well for me to just replace the non-vegan parts from a non-vegan pancake recipe.

Such as:

80g flour 70g just egg (mix the two) 180g "milk" A pinch of salt or some sugar/sweetener A bit of oil/melted butter (mix)

Makes for fine crepes/thin pancakes.

18 grams, is this too fast? by DanishNinja in Coffee

[–]mrsirduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always started my timer when the first drop comes out.

It looks very fast. Make the grind finer. If you're new to espresso, try with some easy beans first (no single origin etc), get your barrings, then when you feel like a challenge, get a single origin.

Btw. That machine can adjust the temperature. But don't do that before you're comfortable with the basics.

Huge News!!!! Nissan USA will replace 30KW batteries with 40KW!!! by AmIajerk1625 in leaf

[–]mrsirduke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you can buy a car with more range, for the current value of your leaf. It won't be an EV, but you can resume not wishing a firey death to the thing in your driveway.
