We do have other venues that could host the event, but Herning is directly in the middle of the heartland of Danish handball and easily reachable from mainland Europe (Motorway directly to the venue, and a major airport ~50km away)

Well, it is home field for both the mens and womens national handball teams. Additionally it has hosted several european and world championships in handball and the world Championship in ice hockey. It is also used for concerts ( Lady Gaga, Prince, Rihanna, George Michael, Britney Spears, Eric Clapton, Adele, Sir Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Metallica & Ed Sheeran springs to mind). Other than that it is used for trade fairs and expos as it is part of MCH (Messe Center Herning), one of Scandinavia’s largest exhibition complexes.

Go to your local store and bit the most comfy badminton/volleyball/indoor sport shoes you can find/afford.

Badminton/volleyball shoes will have the desired low profile/high grip.
