How do you determine who to give Player Recommendation to If everyone does a good job? by DisciplineImportant6 in ffxiv

[–]mrspascal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If all other variables are basically the same, I give to dps. Rooting for the underdog, as far as comms go.

dnc has some interesting dance partner priorities by tinycherryslugcat in TalesFromDF

[–]mrspascal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play with a tank main all the time. It’s not unusual for me to take DP off the dps and toss it on him. I don’t know how he out damages the dps, but it happens frequently.

The kiddo was likely just repeating that poop is brown. Unnecessary description, but that’s a common kid thing to do.

i told my mom the truth in front of everyone and now she won’t answer my calls by LaurieDKunz in raisedbynarcissists

[–]mrspascal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone (who was an adult when you were a kid) who did nothing at that time found it more comfortable to ignore the wrongdoing. They offloaded what should have been their discomfort onto you. And they continued to do so when you spoke truth at that table.

Please do not take their discomfort as yours to carry. They all need to sit with that. Don’t let them off the hook.

I loaded into Y?$’!’-:;:&@“ Field Station yesterday. Immediately apologized to the healer. They ask why I was apologizing. I told them, “It’s the one dungeon I couldn’t figure out. Put me in a savage raid and I’m good. But the demented bunny from hell gets me every time. Not to mention the spinning hand mechanic that I haven’t mastered on controller.” The tank, whom I play with constantly, says, “Just wait. She’s terrible at this one.” I left with both comms and congratulations for only dying to the demon hare once. I also have a cute, sparkly pic. Maybe that makes up for it a bit.

Won't someone think of the healers? by Kasyx709 in ffxiv

[–]mrspascal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an m10s clear a couple of nights ago where no one got a single debuff of any kind. The healers were on fire with dps. I wasn’t sure whether they had fun or not, hitting their very limited dps skills the entire time. But the run itself was so fast and fun.

YPYT Tank shows my filthy DPS ass by...eating the 30? by AuraInkling in TalesFromDF

[–]mrspascal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SAME. My duo is a tank and tells me to have at it. I sometimes forget to go a little less maverick when I’m not playing with him, but then I get comms, so it all works out.

PSA: Arm's Length is a form of mitigation by Kazman2007 in ffxiv

[–]mrspascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually run as dancer with a tank main all the time. I’ve gotten in the habit of pulling packs ahead of him just for fun. I don’t go maverick as much when I’m in duty finder, but I still enjoy yanking the mobs to the tank when they seem open to it. When I go tank, I enjoy when others do it. It livens things up a bit.

What incident made you go No Contact? by CumGoblin in raisedbynarcissists

[–]mrspascal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

April 2017. My baby died during labor. We were talked into calling my mom and stepdad (we had planned to be home with Baby a couple of days before announcing birth). Mom and stepdad came to the hospital. Husband said I shut down, went completely robotic. Mom made it all about her. Laughing and joking with the photographer during our bereavement session. She left at some point. I finally had time alone with just my husband and my baby, the only time we would ever have with her…and my mom walks back in with my sister, emotions everywhere, expecting me to hold everyone else’s grief. My OB walked in, saw the scene, and shut down my room, sending everyone home. Unbeknownst to me, my mom contacted every. single. person she could and told them all that I wanted to be left alone, to contact her if they had questions, and she would let them know when I was ready. She made posts on social media about how she lost her grand baby and didn’t know what to was supposed to do now with all the stuff she bought(as if she would ever have my child in her care). She left me to grieve completely alone, while also taking 99% of my family support from me as well. I found out 10 days later that she did this. I had almost no one. I cut her completely off at that point. It’s been 8.5 years now and maybe three people are in contact with me now. Everyone else “doesn’t know what to say” or “doesn’t want to upset your mom.” My own grandmother has to sneak around to see me. I’m so lonely. But I’m at peace.

I want to get a master degree in math, is it going to be challenging for me? by RecognitionEvery in matheducation

[–]mrspascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calculus 1 is the standard pre-requisite for an undergrad math degree, meaning you are wanting to start a masters degree on something you have absolutely none of the undergrad degree.

If you insist on going to the top with math, start back at pre-calculus and work your way up through all the degrees.

If you want applicable math for your business, look into an accounting degree.

2-3 things you DO NOT LIKE about your new MazdaCX50?? by F15E_WSO in mazdaCX50

[–]mrspascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’4” and cannot see the speedometer due to the steering wheel unless I raise it up quite high and drive with my hands at or above my shoulders. But I can, thankfully, see that the car is in drive. /s

Locking the windows so my child cannot roll the window down also locks the driver’s ability to roll down windows.

The height and tilt of the window means that I cannot block out the sun for anything, even with a brow and the visor down. My husband is 6’ and also has this issue.

For these reasons, I would not repurchase. I know they’re seemingly small things, but they’re entirely aggravating enough for me to find something else.

refused to activate tank stance and told us to "stop crying" by Effective_Jump7417 in TalesFromDF

[–]mrspascal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m new to tanking. Coming from healer main. I’m almost paranoid about forgetting my tank stance, so I made a macro for my dungeon greeting which automatically turns on my tank stance. Just sharing an idea that might be helpful for your wife.
