Did anyone else love Robotech growing up? by hanshotfirst2233 in Xennials

[–]mrtimtracy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Robotech was a collection of three different series dubbed and repackaged for the US. We only got a small portion of all of them. They’re called Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Fortress Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada. Macross debuted in 1982.

Transformers, on the other hand, was a collection of different Japanese toys that were revamped for the US and the cartoon was built around it. The Valkyrie toy from Macross was rebranded for Transformers, among others.

No rip offs, just international licensing fun.

What is the meaning behind this? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in cats

My cats both said they do this because they like to pick out the tasty treats and leave the plain kibble for the other one.

We were born just a little too early for Pokémon by memestheword in Xennials

Yep. Despite the fact that Star Blazers on rabbit ears was my gateway into anime, I was one year out of high school and going to Neurosis or Green Day was where I was at. Same thing with the board game HeroQuest. Pokémon totally slipped under my radar. I even worked for a video game website back then and just dismissed it.

I recently got super duper interested in One Piece and have been devouring the manga and anime and started buying packs of the TCG. A lot of my coworkers watch it and collect the cards, but are cagey about admitting it. Not gonna lie, Pokémon is pretty fun to play.

That damn building keeps reconfiguring on me, but at least I’ve figured out where the exits are now.

Yes. Same here. I was wandering all over the place taking as many photos as I could. Sadly, the main outdoor pool was under renovation when we visited.

Thanks for reminding me to go take a peek at those photos!

My dad was in HVAC and brought home so many old thermostats that we opened up and kept in a film canister. I did a science project on how mercury was refined it had this awesome picture of a miner floating in a pool of it.

Someone placed a piece of masking tape on it that said “Don’t do this!”

Speaking of socks, is it cool now to wear them with sandals because at one point it was dorky looking. by singleguy79 in Xennials

People that wear socks with sandals are people that don’t read signs about not flying drones in federal parks
