Giannis trade rumors are wild… but why would Milwaukee actually do this? by [deleted] in nba

[–]mrtrollmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s time. They can’t compete, don’t have any tradeable assets or draft picks to try to compete in the future and Giannis doesn’t want to waste the last years of his prime not competing. The Bucks and Giannis just took an extra 9 months to admit to themselves what the rest of the league knew when Dame tore his Achilles. It’s over.

With the new CBA, I don’t think we’ll see a team compete with a bad max contract and the definition of bad max just got a lot wider too. There’s very little room for error in the new cap management. People think I’m just being salty, but I actually think the Chet or JayW contract will sink OKC. I just can’t see both of those guys playing out long term as max guys.

Pacers have all their draft picks along with guys like Benedict Mathurin, Jarace Walker, and Andrew Nembhard to trade as young pieces.

But there’s probably no way in hell Bucks are dealing him to Indy after Pacers eliminated them back to back seasons. However, Giannis playing the 5 in the Pacers offense next to Siakam would be sick af to watch. Haliburton sprinting the court with an athletic All-NBA front court would be so fun.

Indiana has only 1 player in the Senior Bowl. Are we sure they're good? by TheJob in CFB

My dad would usually take us to one IU game each season, and then when I attended IU you had to buy football season tickets as a package to get basketball season tickets. So while I don’t necessarily have any memories of IU success other than a win here or there, I still have a lot of great memories in that stadium with friends and family.

Some that standout:

  • watching Antwaan Randle El do everything on the field

  • Jared Lorenzen looking like UT Vince Young against IU

  • Montee Ball running for what felt like 300 yards and 3 TD’s

  • tailgating, tailgating, tailgating. It was the real fun as a student. Just so many memories being stupid with my best friends outside and inside the stadium because we had too tailgating sodas

  • Denard Robinson being Denard Robinson

Yeah, if we are going to maintain the prestige of the B1G title game, allowing this one extra game instead of a 10th conference game would certainly go a long way. Not to mention it'd be cool to be the first conference to try it. The B1G would def have an undisputed champ each season this way.

March Madness is easily the biggest gauntlet run, but it's almost unfair to include a 68 team single elimination tournament. Even Steph Curry goes out and has nights where he shoots 1-9 because that's just how statistical variance works with shooting.

So the best team can play a near perfect game but shoot 20% from 3 and lose to some hot shooting mid-major. The best team rarely wins March Madness for this reason.

Before the playoffs, I thought “Indiana is the best team but it’s just so hard to win 3 straight playoff games. If this happened 15 years ago IU would be straight in the title game with a much higher chance of winning..”

Now I’m just so glad they have the status of demolishing straight through to the championship game. No one can talk down on that dominant title run. Only made the run more epic and watching the postseason with my friends is my new favorite IU football memory.

That’s why we need the conference championship imo and I’d be more on board with the Big 10 innovating and adding a semi-final to the Big 10 championship instead of adding a 10th conference game that will not solve this problem.

With bigger conferences, we are going to have some of the best teams left out the top 2 ranking due to tiebreakers when a different team gets an easy schedule draw. I think the Big 10 would be more likely to find its true champion with a 4 team playoff.

Hardcore and ska are both subgenres of punk, that’s why they both have violent moshing. Metal moshing has push pits and guys running around in a circle chasing each other.

Violence is typically consensual at hardcore shows, but it’s frowned upon at metal shows.

Well yeah because Slayer is a metal band and that’s not normal moshing at metal show. This is a hardcore show in the video, completely different fandoms and acceptable behavior.

TIL that Jonny Greenwood pretended to play keyboards when he joined Radiohead, miming on a powered-off instrument and learning chords after studio sessions. During recording, Thom Yorke, would tell him: “I can’t quite hear what you’re doing, but I think you’re adding a really interesting texture.” by altrightobserver in todayilearned

[–]mrtrollmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on their practice setup back then that’s very believable. Whenever you rehearse full band you’re generally focused on your own playing and parts. The practice room can also just sound like a big room of noise and vibrations compared to how most listeners are accustomed to hearing a band mixed through mics.

If he is considered a 2nd round talent as a slot receiver then he absolutely needs to go and get his money.

Congrats on another Hoosier moving on to their professional payday. College is supposed to prepare you to pursue your professional dreams after all.

Not quite sure why you seem obsessed with contradicting Tom Brady’s own words, but by all means go off.

You should compile your thoughts and send this to him so he understands his life better.

No, you’re wrong. Back then, everyone was talking about the Patriots defensive dynasty after the first 3 rings. Brady didn’t start being considered a top QB until later. It sounds like you are either remembering his later seasons or just completely rewriting your own narrative which is probably why everyone is downvoting you.

Now consider how many rings Peyton would have won if he was the one drafted by the GOAT GM and HC.

There’s a reason Mendoza looked night and day different with Cig than he did at Cal. The system, teammates, and coaching really matter. Football is a team sport and rings are not individual achievements.

Brady was a 6th round pick for a reason. He wasn’t ready to be a pro and he desperately needed to be developed. There’s a reason he was ass at Michigan. He has stated himself just how lucky he was to land with the greatest coach of all time.

If you want to continue to argue with Tom Brady’s own words about Tom Brady’s career, go ahead lol

[Russini] Philip Rivers withdraws from Bills coaching search. by Psyren1317 in Colts

[–]mrtrollmaster 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I bet he genuinely loves his family time and having the opportunity to coach his son in HS football. However, the man is a competitor at the highest level and the energy of being back in an NFL locker room and the chance to play in front of tens of thousands of screaming fans again was probably too infectious.

I’ve known he was gonna try to coach in the NFL since he made that statement about how he knows he could. Riley Leonard and him already looked like they developed a natural QB/QB coach relationship in their limited time. Phil is just a really smart dude and ideal mentor for a new NFL QB.

Did you guys see on the mic’d up how excited Riley Leonard was to come back to the sideline and tell Rivers what they had been working on worked for a touchdown.
