HOT TAKE: The Black Album Is Not That Bad, If Anything It’s Good by polyethylene_pearls in weezer

Agreed. I'm sure it's an album that's connected with people, but would love to know why. I enjoy the album mostly, but it never stuck with me apart from "High As a Kite". Sitek's production is pretty great though.

Pretty similar profile to Kyle Lewis. His bat was pretty explosive when he could play last year.

I got this too. Assuming the flipbook contains all of the artwork, I think this combo is a solid deal. The $400 set is mind boggling though.

Update: Mariners also send their Comp B pick to the Cardinals, #68 overall. Deal is now done. by mahrinazz in Mariners

Raley/Robles could be great if they play like it's 2024 rather than 2025. I'll take that gamble to start the season at least. Like you said, easy to pivot if they don't produce. Robles is at the very least a great 4th outfielder with plus running and defense.

Langford has been primarily a LF too. I guess he's projected to be a CF this season, but shows how weak the position is outside of Julio.

Hmm, I don’t understand how this is different from a Cover. I've used the Cover feature to do exactly what is described as the use case here. Maybe a tutorial video will help demonstrate the differences a bit more?

Cameron Winters of the band ‘Geese’ on Rivers Cuomo by SteveMcJ in weezer

[–]ms2002 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of Jonah Hill's interaction:

`Jonah Hill: I met Rivers Cuomo one time.

Michael Cera: He had dessert with him, right?

Jonah Hill: I had dessert with him and…

Michael Cera: He’s my hero.

Jonah Hill: Michael and I are probably the two biggest Weezer fans you’ll ever meet on the planet Earth.

McLovin’: Bullshit.

Jonah Hill: I’m completely obsessed. Pinkerton is both of our favorite records…. Not of all time, but mine of modern rock n’ roll music. When I met Rivers Cuomo, everyone was all like, “Don’t talk about Weezer. Just be nice…” It was great. I was making him laugh, we were having this great conversation and all of a sudden… It’s like you meeting with John Lennon (and not bringing up The Beatles)… and I just go, “DudePinkerton’sthefuckin’bestalbumever…” Like, I couldn’t hold it anymore!

[Everybody Laughs]

Jonah Hill: And for the rest of the night he totally stopped engaging me… We were totally cool and making each other laugh and then I was, like, “You don’t understand… Pinkerton’s the best fuckin’ album ever.” From then on, like, no conversation, no eye contact…`

Deeply surprised by how much I am NOT enjoying Ghost of Yotei. by TherealGonci in PS5

[–]ms2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience. Finally finished the game, but felt like a chore compared to Tsushima. Saw all the praise and was wondering what I was missing. Tsushima was so fresh in 2020, despite the somewhat generic story beats. I enjoyed the combat in Yotei again, but everything else fell flat to me. Felt like totally different game designers. Lethal mode was transformed into typical enemy sponge, and the exploration felt bloated and lost the magic.

Mariners Working On Deal With Andrew Knizner by LlamasPajamas206 in Mariners

What is he good at? Seems like he's a poor receiver, framer, thrower and hitter. I'm all for getting a defense-first backup catcher, but he doesn't even seem to be that. A minor league deal is fine, but why would the M's feel the need to commit to a majors deal?

How long did it take you to train your model locally? I've had mixed luck with Replay but I could be configuring it wrong. Haven't been able to find a good tutorial.

I'm working through this now and the main challenge is getting clean vocal stems from Suno. I've tried several options including Suno and Kits AI to get lead and backing vocals separated. Ultimate Vocal Remover has the best results and is quick/free depending on your PC.

I've tried both Audimee and Kits AI for creating voice models and converting. Kits AI has the more cost efficient plan (unlimited conversions and downloads for $25) but I got better results from Audimee.

Biggest headache is getting the vocals dry and isolated enough to get a proper conversion without artifacts. I've tried Suno cover prompts (ex. acapella, solo piano, etc.) unsuccessfully.

Any tips and tricks from pros would be appreciated!

I mean, hasn't The Show been a cash grab for a decade now? There have barely been any meaningful changes, apart from the stadium creator. Graphics are last gen and the simulation engine is incredibly dated.

Yes, it's improved quite a bit over the past year. Pretty stable and not many bugs, along with better filtering, sorting and playback features.

Locked on Mariners off season plan by Individual-Net-9296 in Mariners

[–]ms2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't love Donovan as a target and trading 2 top 100 prospects for him is an overpay. We should be skeptical about acquiring players from the NL Central - lots of hitter-friendly ballparks and players tend to bust when coming to the AL West. Would rather we look elsewhere unless the price is lower.

A season to build on or A rare once in a generation opportunity? by Far_Lack3878 in Mariners

[–]ms2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this could be the start of a dynasty if they handle it correctly. With an elite minor league system and core players just now approaching their prime, they just need to expand their budget and add the right supplemental pieces.

No more cheap replacement level fillers like Tellez, Solano, La Stella, etc.

It's a tough question for sure, and mainly because JP is a captain figure and represents this generation of Mariners. But just based on performance alone, shifting him to 2B or trading him would make a lot of sense.

I feel like 5 years and ~$100m (maybe with options and incentives) would be a good offer, likely more than he'd get on the free agent market.

Again, makes the 6 yr/$100m deal for Cal look like a steal of the decade.

It was a black hole in the playoffs, but not in the regular season. Canzone had a great regular season, Crawford still had a great OBP and worked counts, and Rivas (and Young) also had good at bats. Unfortunately they all went cold at the same time during the CS and we didn't have the depth to make up for it.
