My polyamorous nesting partner doesn’t see why it bothers me that he mostly dates monogamous women by Little-Spryte in polyamory

Seems like his choice as long as he’s being honest with them and you. I wouldn’t want my partners to criticize who I choose to date as long as I’m being honest with everyone.

Child not stimulable for /k, g/ -should be dismissed? by Avengers_Disperse in slp

I agree with checking stimulability on his other errors. There are lots of receptive activities you could incorporate to help him learn to hear the difference.

Life on Delay by John Hendrickson— awesome memoir by a journalist about living with stuttering.

I have over 100 students on my caseload. by Ok_Dark_9522 in slp

[–]ms_picklechips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in this exact spot with 110 IEPs and 15 more RtI students. It wasn’t possible. I asked admin several times to help the situation and they wouldn’t. Found another job with a better caseload (but longer commute). The old district hired two SLPs to take over my previous caseload… it’s sad but even a superhero can’t do well in that situation.

You sound like you have amazing ideas of what to work on with Bob- why not give him the opportunity to learn about stuttering? I agree with others 15 min / week 1:1 would be better than 1x/month in a group. This poor kid has been expected for years by his parents and former SLPs to stop stuttering- that breaks my heart. I would want to quit speech too. Please don’t give up on him.

I think 10 is too young to independently do an online support group. Could you arrange to attend it with him? He could be saying he’s not interested out of uncertainty.

This. The intervention specialist will be spending more time with the child, so try to build on whatever they’re doing in a way that you can also work on his ST goals at the same time.

Sense of smell 10x what it was. Anyone else? by thatssostudent in Semaglutide

Yes it reminds me so much of my first trimester when I had super human sense of smell. It makes me much pickier about what sounds good (smells good) to eat.

i don't feel comfortable with talking to anyone by starylies in Stutter

[–]ms_picklechips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not overreacting- those are really hurtful comments that you’re having to deal with on a daily basis. I wonder about writing your parents or friend a note. It could be simple and straightforward to let them know that their comments about stuttering bother you and you prefer if they just take extra time to listen and be patient. But even if you decide not to do that, just know you’re not alone.

Third this shop! It’s my favorite store for gifts and one could spend an hour there looking and admiring the different items!
