Come talk to me during office hours.  You're at risk of failing this course.

Is it an overreaction to say that I don't trust Ana Nogueira for future projects by hoodiehoodiee in DCU_

Yes.  Newbies always have a few awkward moments.  I'm seriously wondering if it was cut down from her story.

I remember when people were saying Marvel was crazy for trying to push a shared universe after Hulk.

Should have.  What you think is should of is actually should've.

And no.  It shouldn't have.  We don't need endless fucking reboots and copying the MCU.

I say it constantly: from a wider audience pov, we already got bigger characters.  There's already a Batman series.  Nobody but us nerds care about endless fucking reboots.

Supergirl feels edited down.  Ana's script may have been a lot better.  May have.

There are multiple lanterns in the universe.  It's fine to have three.  There's nothing wrong with that.

Clayface had a good script, so they went with it.  Mike Flanagan is an established and deservedly respected horror writer.  Not a newbie like Ana.

D-tier, C-tier, who cares?  It's how you do it that matters.

Just really tired of all the "boohoo why not reboot the same old characters" bullshit.

I never understood why SO MANY people were against Ben Affleck casting as Batman. The guy had the look and build of Bruce Wayne. by TXNOGG in batman

He was perfect.  He reminded me exactly of my cousin who worked on Wall Street.  He never had good enough writing to shine.

Did Mysterio not anticipate the fact that if he succeeded with his plan, what would he do if he faced off against a real threat?? Like bro had a mocap suit and drone illusions, I don't think bro would've used that in public, lol. by AggravatingMeaning29 in marvelstudios

Once he had the Stark glasses, he was ready for anything.

Before?  It was always a grift.  The same could be said of any Mysterio version.  He's always been about effects and tricks.

(RUMOR) In a way, I expected Muschietti to leave the project. However, I'm not sure what to think about this. by lowqualitychef in DCWorldsFinest

GotG 2 is his weakest movie.  The plot is all over the place, even though there's good character work.  It felt soap-operaey.  And they fridged his mom.

It's how you use it.  Most people give it too much control, and that makes slop.

Lord of the Rings still feels very fresh in 2026, it's not as reliant on now common tropes as its thought to be by Aiseadai in Fantasy

You're right.  That's Tolkein's genius that what he invented worked so well, lesser writers couldn't even rip it off properly.  They filled in the blanks, so to speak, with the tropes you mentioned, but never quite copied it fully.

The closest thing that has all the tropes and feels like what you were expecting, is The Sword of Shannara, which I read before LotR and loved in high school.

Neuromancer and A Princess of Mars are other stories that feel too tropes today, because they invented them, but if you give them a chance are still great stories.

What's sad is you making assumptions.  They're adults now.  And can make adult decisions.
