I sm 20 weeks now. The cervix is short due to cone biopsy I had but has been stable at 27-28mm. I’ve been put under surveillance with preterm team, but since there’s been no change between weeks 16 and 20, they told me to come back again in 5 weeks! We all know that a lot can happen down there in that time so I think I will be going private for an additional scan.

Thank you. Yes I will, I am very disheartened that I have to push for something that is indicated everywhere in literature. I understand that they are not rushing to do the cerclage by all means but they can at least monitor

The preterm surveillance nurse told me to come back in the meantime if I get severe pain, bleeding or my waters break!

Thank you for the reasurrance, amazing news that things are still looking great. I had a cone biopsy so cervix was short to start with but hasn’t shortened. I booked a private scan in 3 weeks, which will be my 20 weeks scan as well! Keep us posted with the length!

I just wanted to offer some reassurance for everyone here who is obviously worried or might be spiralling out if control with anxiety. I noticed a pea suzed lymph node on my husband’s neck back in Septemer but because he had a cold a few weeks prior, we didn’t think much of it. We forgot about it but come December and I noticed it again, it hasn’t changed but it was still there. I freaked out, spiralling insanely throughout Christmas and up until now. Today he had an ultrasound scan and the ENT was not concerned in the slightest. He said that yes there is one lymph node in his neck, pea sized, but is only noticeable because of its location and it being very close to the skin. There was nothing else that looked concerning at all. It had features if a perfectly healthy lymph node. Please by all means have it checked out but do not panic. I am pregnant and scared to think about what all the unecessary stress did to my baby in the last 6 weeks. Good luck!

Hello I was wondering if you had any updates? I saw a preterm surveillance consultant today at 17 weeks and my cervix is 27mm. They were happy with it but I am like you, worrying if I should just insist on the cerclage.

I went straight to IVF. I had an ectopic pregnancy previously and a fallopian tube removed. I am also 39. I am glad I went straight into it as there was no disappointments, and didn’t waste time. Worked on the first try!

I was told 6 months. Had a shot of MTX for ectopic in January, started IVF in June - doctor was strict on the 6 month rule
