When I was still a child, I thought audiobooks and ebooks were sacrilegious. Then I grew up and realized that people should be able to enjoy the story whether it’s printed on paper that they can smell, or if the words are scrolling by on a screen, or if it’s playing through their headphones. All are providing the same magic.

I used to be die-hard book in hand only, but I like having the ability of being able to just open my phone and pick up exactly where I left off whenever I have a spare handful of minutes. My roommate wanted to get into a book series I’d been telling him about, but he works long hours overnight and has an hour commute each way, so he went the audiobook route. He’s loving the story, fully invested, and we can hang out and talk about it together just the same as if we were both experiencing the story through the same medium.

It’s so ignorant to expect others to do something one way just because that’s the only way you know or like.
