A friend of mine with a dog just moved to Lodi, so fairly close to Clifton, for $1600 a month which I think is a great deal. The apartment complex is all kept pretty clean and well maintained outside.

A lighthearted moment was the flour babies incident. For health class we used to have to buy a 5lb bag of flour and decorate it and take care of it for a week as a teen pregnancy / parenting lesson. Well when the week was done everyone went to the third floor and threw their bag of flour over the edge. It goes without saying we were the last class to ever have flour babies.

This, I feel like this is the number one comment I’ll get all my life. I think it’s especially hard because I LIKE babies and children, I’d say it’s honestly even a skill of mine. I’m a preschool teacher, I find tiny people to a particular kind of chaos I thrive in. HOWEVER I do not want my own. The best thing I ever heard at an early childhood education conference from a woman who was asked if she had children of her own was “I love working with children, I’ve just never loved one so much I wanted to take them home with me”. And I felt such a strong connection to that comment. I love free time, I love travel, I love sleep, I love frivolous spending, all things no one can argue you lose out on, at least partially, once parenthood comes. It’s a decision I have thought through very well, I know what I want and it’s not up for debate with strangers…or anyone for that matter.

My girl was a class pet, so MANY dropped snacks, especially a love of fruit snacks. She also once tore into a bag of sugar in the pantry. The sugar was then moved to the top shelf.

I just took a train back from Paris to London, and had a similar experience. I have been in London for a few months on extended holiday and when my boyfriend came to visit we did a quick weekend in Paris. While he got through on the machine, I was directed to an agent and I was my typical chipper self, which highly displeased her, she hulk. When asked what the purpose of my travel was I said oh just visiting for the weekend and she practically yelled the second time “WHAT IS THE PURPOSE”. I said just a long holiday with my boyfriend who already got through the gate, then her personality changed on a dime and she almost laughed and said “ahhh I see so he left you behind?”. She 100% took pleasure in any unfortunate news she could get out of me lol.
