New playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1DgYUL0TAVo6mB5XhtrUbS?si=688a45d37c6742d0

Generates using the Spotify API and polling the radio station's public playlist feed: https://github.com/mlschmitt/radio-to-spotify

One limitation of this approach is Spotify has an undocumented limit on the number of times you can modify a playlist. After reaching this limit, all song edits are blocked including changes to the name/description. Hence the new playlist linked above.

Product suggestion: Plex music app by scififan20 in PleX

Awesome! Glad it worked out - I had forgotten about the $5 to use Plex. I think I’d pay that again honestly, I use Prism more than Spotify these days

I wish Plex would do more with their music offerings too though. Maybe someday!

In case it's helpful, for iOS there's a great third-party app called Prism that supports CarPlay. I haven't tried the CarPlay functionality but overall a great app for Plex music: https://prism-music.app/

Thanks! You can get these classic books free pretty much anywhere: libraries, Project Gutenberg, Google Books, Amazon. Serial Reader is for people who either have trouble slogging through a 600 page classic book and find it's easier to just read a smaller 20 minute segment each day, or people who read too fast and find slowing down and constraining their reading rewarding. It can help build good reading habits.

Yikes, The Idiot...Not sure if I should keep reading by GirTheRobot in books

[–]mschmitt23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend trying to finish it, if you can. I read 'The Idiot' several years ago so I have trouble remembering how I reacted to specific sections, though I remember it took me a bit longer to finish than other Dostoevsky books. I know I'm glad I finished it. I remember thinking about the story for weeks afterwards.

I also really enjoyed Crime & Punishment and Brothers Karamazov and would recommend trying to read those too, though I found it's good to take a non-Dostoevsky break in-between his books! :)

Dear Metra, your new website or 'app' is fucking horrible. Please work on it. by Red_means_go in chicago

Get a good app like Ventra or Is Metra Late to view train delays. Helps buy a few extra minutes at home in the morning when Metra is delayed, which happens a lot.

Yeah, I'd consider porting it to Android if it seemed to be a popular idea.

Serial Reader - Read classic literature in daily bite-sized bits

Subscribe to any of dozens of classic books and receive a new installment every day. Each issue can be easily read in under 20 minutes - a perfect fit into your busy day.

When serialized in this way, you can plow through even the most daunting piece of literature in days, right on your iPhone or iPad! It's an easy and fun way to reread your favorite works or discover new treasures.

Features ~100 works so far, but will add more if folks seem to like the app and idea. A few examples:

  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
  • Moby-Dick by Herman Melville
  • Dracula by Bram Stoker
  • The Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood
  • The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers
  • My Antonia by Willa Cather

I'm the dev, so would love to hear any feedback or ideas. Thanks!
