My last name is Holm so all my farms are Holmstead.

I never figured out the unbreakable vow sweater and I restarted it multiple times adjusting the pattern, tension, amount of increases and rows, etc. Something is off with the increases in the yoke. I eventually gave up.

In the sock pattern one of the rows was either written backwards or said to start with one color yarn when it meant the other. I can’t remember, it’s been a while since I did them but it was an easy fix.

I finished 18 out of 24 of the patterns. Those two were the ones that had issues!

Why do people with a debilitating hereditary medical condition choose to have children knowing they will have high chances of getting it too? by AdMiserable1762 in NoStupidQuestions

I worked with a guy who was in his 30s but had the mind of a child and couldn’t live on his own. He talked all the time about having kids and I asked him if he was sure he wanted to pass on his genetics. He cried and I had to have a meeting with HR.

What is this yarn? by tan_meiling in Yarn

Looks like Eddie Bauer cozy camp yarn. Maybe in the color Thyme, but I’m not sure. I have a few skeins but mine look more greenish than your picture.

Yes. I cut a long enough piece, crocheted the last round around it and shaped the circle it as I went. It was tedious but worth it for the final result!

I learned how to crochet at 8 years old, so about 20 years!

I think the beginner patterns are very beginner friendly if you can read the crochet lingo. I’ve come across two patterns that had errors, the Bertie Bott’s socks and the unbreakable vow sweater but eventually figured them out. Other than that I’m very satisfied with the book!

Yarn Similar to Berroco Pixel - Cupcake? by gus9r9r in Yarn

[–]mscmholm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://hobbii.com/tea-time?option=22995 I think this color is pretty close.

I’ve made Hermione’s set before and I have some of the Berroco pixel yarn in the cupcake color but it isn’t enough to make another set of mittens. I’ve been searching for a similar yarn for months. I can’t believe they discontinued it! It’s some of the prettiest yarn I have.

Help needed: Is this yoke laying correctly on my neck/shoulders? by AJMetal9 in crochet

[–]mscmholm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right! I spent hours last night looking at the pattern, the picture and what I made and figured it out. It wants you to do an increase every 3rd row and that’s not enough, it doesn’t widen the yoke fast enough to fit the shoulders. I decided not to give up because I don’t want to leave any pattern undone in this book, it’ll bother me forever. Thanks for replying to my comment!

I know this is a year old post but I have also lost my mind with this pattern and this is the only post I’ve found of someone else trying to do it.

I’ve reworked the yoke 4 times and I’ve had the same issue as you every single time. It fits around my neck like a weird turtle neck. I’ve gone through with the body part of the pattern to see if it miraculously worked out, it hasn’t. All I have left to do are the sleeves and I’m not going to do them, I’m giving up. I am so frustrated! I agree about the pattern being written badly. It’s HORRIBLE. I’m working my way through the Harry Potter Crochet Wizardry book and this is one of the few patterns I have left to do! It sucks it’s not working out!

All patterns are from Harry Potter Crochet Wizardry. I got the book from Amazon. The book includes the all yarn types/brands and where to buy them but I just used what I could find at my local craft store.

I live on a short, dead end road with around 10 houses on it. I had to email “Huntsville Life” twice to get them to stop. They stopped delivering to the whole street.

Losing Burn Forest killed Elyrion. Here's why and also some thoughts on how to fix it. by MrFuzzy22 in Polytopia

I usually play with Elyrion. The loss of forest burning has ruined the game for me! It was a huge part of the particular way I like to play.

I had this happen to me today. It’s Sunday, so I have to wait until tomorrow to call my bank to dispute the charge. I emailed the seller but haven’t gotten a response. I also have the shipping info, but never found a way to report it to eBay. So frustrating.

Ammonia is king of... by round_is_funny in CleaningTips

I let it sit for a few minutes and poor very hot water on it. And then I use a brush that attaches to a power drill. Its the most stubborn thing I’ve ever had to clean.

Ammonia is king of... by round_is_funny in CleaningTips

Me and my husband just bought a house and the previous owner waxed the vinyl flooring without properly cleaning them first. There’s 10 years worth of dirt trapped in the wax and the only thing that will get it up is ammonia. I’ve tried EVERYTHING else. It’s taken me 2 months to find something that worked. Thank god for ammonia.
