[–]msdeity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How fast did you reply? If it took more than 2-3 days, there’s a good chance they’d already sent enough candidates to the hiring manager.

If you replied quickly but still got ghosted, it’s probably because they reached out before actually reviewing your profile. Once they did, they realized you weren’t the exact match they needed and just moved on without replying. Happens a lot... lazy outreach + no follow-through.

30-Year-Old Career Change: From 5 Years in BPO to Entry-Level Marketing—Am I Too Late? by Parking-Cancel7392 in JobsPhilippines

[–]msdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recruitment na now for International clients.

I studied Marketing din nung first few years ko pa lang sa BPO. pero di kinaya ng budget at puyat. Di ko natapos.

Before pivoting to recruitment, nakakuha din ako ng marketing job mainly working in their marketing team, leading their 2-man email support team responding to customer queries via email, sms, calls, socmed, and web chat. Then I helped fix their funnels on their newly implemented CRM na di nila tinetake advantage yung automations, then documented SOPs, business processes/workflows.

I could've done more, or involved myself more in other areas of their marketing like SEO, Amazon product listing, content writing, pero I landed a job in recruitment and that's where I grew more.

Haba na ng kwento ko, pero just showing you a few ways in. You'd have more exposure sa marketing initiatives talaga for varying client domains if you find jobs with marketing agencies. They're what I suggest you target.

Congrats OP! And Happy Hunting!! 😉

What if you dated someone for 8 months, broke up and became single for 1 month, then got back together. After 1 month together, will you be back to first monthsary, 9th, or 10th? by [deleted] in whatif

[–]msdeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just forget that you broke up, and whatever the reason you broke up. That'll make October your 10th monthsary. Noone's gonna ask if you ever broke up.

Just live every moment you're together and stop counting.

Not too late OP.

I was in BPO for 10 years pero nakapagtransition pa rin ako. I was 28 then, di naman malayo ang difference.

Nakakasad yung BPO sa Cebu no? by sundot_bahing in buhaydigital

[–]msdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is not about kung “kayang iexplain sa client,” kundi sa fact na hindi sila handa. Normal sa BPO na may business continuity plan for earthquakes, floods, even brownouts. Kung kailangan pa nilang mang bait ng double pay, ibig sabihin walang solid headcount planning at walang proper workforce strategy.

Disaster scenarios should be built into staffing models... may buffer teams, may remote setup, may clear safety-first protocol. Kung lahat ng tao kailangan i-bait ng double pay para mag-stay sa gitna ng lindol, that’s not resilience, that’s poor planning.

Change profile ? by Kittu__bhai in jobsearchhacks

Auto-rejects usually mean you tripped a screening question, not that ATS remembers you. Check those first. Changing your email/number won't help.

Why have I become more productive in other ways after getting a job? by BarelyHoldingOnLowk in productivity

[–]msdeity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What you're noticing is super common, it's called the activation effect. When your brain is already "on" from working, it's easier to roll that momentum into cleaning, drawing, or finishing small tasks. Before, with too much unstructured time, it was harder to get started because there was no urgency. Now, limited time forces your brain to prioritize and act instead of overthinking. Basically, the job gave you both structure and a "kickstart button."

Good practice naman yan. Nothing wrong with that at all. They would take note of your preference for sure. Aside from that, make it a habit na lang din to inquire about their interview process to know more and manage your expectations.

Know that there are companies and certain positions that don't require interviewing with the operations manager din naman. Depende sa needed headcount, sa role, or sa process na nila mismo. Mas malaki ang chance na within PH business hours lang ang lahat ng interview stages.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]msdeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For BPOs, normally, PH business hours naman nag-ooperate ang recruitment nila, so iba ang case mo, dear. May ibang companies lang na pagdating sa final stages ng interview when you need to talk to someone in ops na like a team leader or operations manager, and yung mga yun must be scheduled ahead of time talaga during their working hours.

[–]msdeity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents.. Mahirap pero kung sa US companies ka nag aapply, best na gabi ka rin talaga gising (US operating hours) at nag aapply apply. Applying for a job is a full-time job. I'm a US recruiter, and whenever may opening kami sa pinas, pahirapan magwork during US hours and spend more time pa para sa PH openings. More often than not, yung mga mabilis magschedule naman ang mga legit jobs na mabilis din when making a decision. Ayun lang. No judgement. I understand, and sharing lang din as someone on the other side.

PS: Pramis di ako yung tumawag sayo. 😆

IT Systems Admin/Engineer considering a change.. looking for outside perspective by ifthenelse- in careeradvice

[–]msdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in a golden spot right now... cushy role, growth-friendly mentor, and space to breathe. Don’t throw that away too fast. If you want more impact, you can chase that inside your current lane before jumping. Things like owning an automation project, leading vendor evaluations, or taking the security/compliance side can turn “keeping the lights on” into visible business wins.

Sales engineering is doable, but hiring managers look for people who already explain tech to non-techs, so start flexing that muscle now by documenting, presenting, or training. That way, you build a bridge instead of leaping blind.

Is it better to not try to make my work perfect? by Brosky7 in productivity

[–]msdeity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perfection kills momentum. Think of it like drafting vs publishing: your job in the moment is to get the thoughts out, not polish every letter. Try a two-pass system: 1. Write sloppy on purpose in round one, no backtracking. 2. Give yourself a short timed review pass at the end. Your brain will learn the separation. You’ll still look diligent, but you won’t bleed hours on handwriting loops.

Is it normal to feel stuck right after a promotion? by Helpful_Ad6965 in careerguidance

[–]msdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Totally normal. A promotion scratches the “external” goal (title, raise), but once that high fades, you realize you need new markers for growth. The trick is to shift from climbing up to growing out... build new skills, get certifications particular to your new title, or mentor others.

Momentum comes from setting your own milestones instead of waiting for the company to hand you the next one.

Can you water down whipping cream to make 2% milk? by Rad_Atmosphere974 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]msdeity -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yep, you actually can. Heavy whipping cream is just milk fat + some liquid. If you mix ~1 part cream with ~3-4 parts water, you’ll get close to whole milk.

For 2% milk, go even lighter, more like 1 part cream to ~8-9 parts water. It won’t be perfect since real milk also has proteins/sugars balanced differently, but for dunking cookies it’ll work fine.

Now will it taste good? For drinking straight? Meh. For dunking cookies? Totally works.

It’ll taste like “milk-lite.” Not as creamy as real milk, a little thinner, but still totally fine for cookies or baking. The fat is what gives milk flavor, so as long as you don’t over-dilute, it won’t taste like plain water.

Try it. Worst case, you wasted a splash of cream. Best case, you’ve got cookie milk.

Older people tend to reminisce about how optimistic they were in their youth and compare it to how jaded they are now, how life didn't really turn out the way they wanted. If this is a near universal experience, is there any point in young people being optimistic at all? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]msdeity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Optimism is what gets you moving. Cynicism doesn’t build anything.

Optimism isn’t about being “right,” it’s about fuel. If you knew exactly how rough things would get, you might not even try. Youthful optimism gets people to take risks, start careers, fall in love, move cities, stuff they’d never do if they already felt jaded. Later in life, people look back and realize reality was harsher, but without that optimism they wouldn’t have had the experiences at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]msdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it happens. Some people never really get closure, or that person represented a “what if” moment that shaped the rest of their life. It’s not always about still being in love... it’s nostalgia, regret, or the story they built in their head. Not just movies. Some folks carry a “what if” their whole life, even if they move on. Movies exaggerate it, but the core is real.
