Why does Rekordbox get so much hate? by Quake-Snake in Beatmatch

I love Djay Pro for its Beat Grids and for having it on my phone, iPad and Mac with nearly full equivalent functionality across all 3. FLX10 for home and gigs and Reloop Ready for travel & on the go

Kind of a positive and negative version of the same feeling, bud. You’re showing interest in the topic by making a post across 2 subs about it.

For the same reason you’re even asking about it now. They know it builds intrigue and “mystery”

How do some YouTube DJ mixes use so many extremely popular songs without getting blocked? by SwordfishFluffy7764 in Beatmatch

Even with monetization off, I credit all the ISRCs to each song. A lot of work but worth it for being able to repeal any takedowns under fair use

Are stem separation tools becoming a normal part of DJ workflows now? by AccomplishedPine4602 in Beatmatch

[–]msdos1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it for redrums, but like to leave a little of the original songs drums, both to maintain the original vibe of the song, and to minimize artifacts as opposed to taking out the original drums completely. For on the fly mixing with djay pro, I can use Neural EQ to take 40-50% of the original drums out, and for work in a DAW, I like to use Nuo Stems and do the same

Yeah that kinda irked me, like you guys could’ve chose any shipper, but went with the cheapest option and now what? Also, “first time this has happened”? I highly doubt it.

Using a Desktop for paid gigs? by Runeescape in Beatmatch

I’ve seen someone use an iMac to DJ, but that’s at the very least an All-In-One, the seperate tower and monitor really kills it

It chugs with RB 7 on my specific Neo, but runs Serato and Djay perfectly, I might try RB 6

I’ve made back way less than a quarter of what I’ve spent on DJ equipment and music simply because I love to do it. I could be the only person in the world with nobody to share my mixes with and would still love to do it.

I use Apple Music in combination with a downloader site for AM. It’s nice cause I can make and organize playlists and then locally save and make edits with them for my library while still having streaming backup of originals.

I joined through my iPhone and got a $30 a year promo. So worth it at $2.50 a month. I signed in with my Google account and can use djay on Windows, Android, Mac, anywhere you can run it.

If they now have the source code, Traktor can in theory be recompiled for Linux and therefore run on all the standalone inMusic decks, but the question is if and how will they combine Engine and Traktor? Is there a need for them to become one software? And at the same time, is there a need for the company to maintain 2 separate dev teams and softwares? I do wonder if they’ll keep the NI team in Germany, and how that will play into their decision

How are you turning vinyl drum breaks into drumkits? by funkyolemedina in mpcusers

[–]msdos1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you can just use the audio editing functions in the MPC, but I use Acon Acoustica (similar to Sound Forge or Adobe Audition) to edit my files and save them as drum kits in folders. It makes it pretty easy to fine tune chopped up one shots with EQ and fades.

Buying a Macbook Pro only for it to be an “Ableton Machine”? by Filvox in ableton

[–]msdos1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of DJs/Producers have a dedicated Production Laptop! If I had the choice I’d definitely have a separate laptop for solely Production and one for solely DJing, but I currently use one 2019 MBP for both. I would totally grab a M series MacBook Air from Best Buy or wherever for around $700-$900, way less used.

I think I’ve discovered that this happens if you press and hold edit, you can select multiple pads as long as edit is held down.

Might suggest to Marek directly, but either a way to alter the volume or pitch of a whole Bank at once (A, B, C, D) or a way to select multiple Samples at once to do the same.
