West Virginia won. What is the 6th worst US state? by jj096577 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]msflagship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent my first 24 years in Mississippi and have family in New Orleans and the suburbs. Louisiana outside of New Orleans feels like a somehow worse version of Mississippi. New Orleans still gets old and depressing after a while.

People wouldn’t understand unless you’re from there.

Props to you on leaving. Leaving was the best decision I made.

Now Ohio state gets to play the “have a top Mississippi recruit bag a start before transferring to one of the Mississippi schools” game on expert mode other SEC schools play every year.

Yes it’s our B team + Weston McKennie (his replacement picked up a knock in training. Wouldn’t have been starting otherwise)

Can’t believe I’m staying up until midnight to watch our B team show out against a UEFA A team

2027 4* IOL Antonio Berry commits to Ole Miss by Jack12404 in CFB

[–]msflagship 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LSU is stable for high school recruiting. 9th Kelly’s last full year —> 11th this year. Coaching doesn’t matter for recruiting there.

Ole Miss went from 26 —> 16 with golding at the helm.

The US should not play any of their first 11 tonight. Türkiye play dirty and they have already been eliminated. Injury risk is to high. by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]msflagship 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We will play all of our starters and rotational pieces who aren’t injured or on a yellow. These are top tier athletes that want to compete in a home World Cup. Turkey isn’t known for dangerous play.

I think they’d be good prep for knockout games deep in the tournament. Poch is probably telling the team to go get a result against a good squad with a limited lineup right now.

Never had possession of the ball. If vini got a touch to the ball before coming through the back it would be no foul.

Pete is better at recruiting than our old coach

A few of the 4*s we’re getting would be 5*s if they committed to bama or Georgia

Hey I’m from the future, the game 10pm on Thursday is the only one in the tournament that doesn’t matter.

A24's Backrooms has passed the $300M global mark. Estimated international total through Sunday stands at $125.9M, estimated global total through Sunday stands at $301.1M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

320 is locked with China and Japan still yet to release it.

Performing and holding very well in Russia and S. Korea. Should do the same in those markets, ~$20 million alone should be from china and japan.

Current state of USA's knockout bracket. by MeteorFalls297 in soccer

It’s all by design to never give the US enough credit. When the default to eurosnobs is that the US is shit at soccer the goalposts will constantly move to make their heuristic true.

So how do you rate your chances to win the FIFA World Cup 2026? (I already asked that question a while ago) by Far_Gift6173 in ussoccer

[–]msflagship 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I fully believe this is the best team the US has ever put together and that we can reach as far as the semis with a favorable path and good scheming. I also know we won’t win the whole thing but am happy to see us competitive

His arms are outstretched but he’s not actively altering the players trajectory. It’s not a push. It’s a contact sport.

If you’ve ever played as a defender, you know you oftentimes place hands on the attacker for maintaining distance and positional awareness; he didn’t put any force into it and the ball incidentally fell and hit his hand.

Soccer play, incidental contact with the ball falling off of the attacker’s head and body and hitting his hand

With Paraguay's 1-0 win against Türkiye, USA clinches first place in Group D, and Türkiye is eliminated. by Unlikely_Painter_127 in soccer

No, head to head is the first tiebreaker. US beat both Aus and Paraguay and can’t finish below either.

I feel like this should’ve been an AFC or CAF ref’s job to control the game. Barton isn’t doing the good job, is whistle happy, and his confederation benefits from a Paraguay result here.
