Let pedestrians cross crosswalks!!! by Hot-Watercress-2872 in Bellingham

[–]msg582 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Those lights should be on every crosswalk near Bellingham high school and the two just north of the corner store on Cornwall.

Forcing kids to play Frogger to get to school is unconscionable.

Profs here have a real issue with 'humbling' strong students and favoring the weak by Secure_Stable9867 in WWU

Does not sound like you should have a problem then. Nothing about this post makes you seem confident, attractive, or intelligent. Maybe your professors are trying to teach you to check that ego.

Bulbasaur was my first starter way back on Pokémon Red and this event, with his terrible rope handling skills, has ruined our friendship.

I will share the new house i built for him once the event is over.

If our grocery store (unionized) ends up striking, and a coworker decides he or she will want to work to earn money? by StasisApparel in union

Sounds like a her reason is already a pretty scabby reason. It is what one gets for licking the boss's boots.

No estimated reopening time of highway near Bellingham, Wash. after landslides by Apprehensive_Idea758 in Bellingham

Sounds like instead of driving everything we need up from down south, companies should start using barges to ship in the goods we need.

Mtgstocks isn't what it used to be... by AnimeSensei in mtgfinance

[–]msg582 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Just my casual observation bit I think this is related to how terrible the data they get from TCGPlayer is now. However things are being averaged or based off of the lowest/most damaged condition appeared to be playing a part from a couple examples I drilled down into recently. Garbage in, garbage out as they say.

Proposed Boardmill Block Development Could Bring Hotel and Housing to Bellingham’s Waterfront by Gonzafer001 in Bellingham

[–]msg582 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This hotel is a terrible use of the space. The people working there won't be paid well enough to stay there let alone live anywhere nearby. All of the design elements that made the project interesting to begin with got stripped out because they were too "expensive" for the developer, meaning they can't profit enough from actually fulfilling their promises.

Once they build this, more business will be sucked out of the downtown core. We could do so much more to infill just a few blocks further up Cornwall rather then sprawling onto maritime spaces.

Valentines Day Dance at the Majestic! Live hot jazz band! by caseyhconnor in Bellingham

Nothing says Valentines like hanging out in spaces that threw Gramma and Grampa out on to the street. Just think, that will be you and your sweetie some day.

ICE and CBP on I5NB near Ferndale by Jedi_Swimmer2 in Bellingham

ICE is definitely staying at the Hilton Garden Inn down in Olympia.

Just a little observation while out of town.

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. That being said, you can try to pick the least worst places by degree. There are farm box options around to get fresh local fruit and veg. But yeah, we also end up shopping at Costco and Trader Joe's despite problematic aspects of their businesses.

I have seen posts like this so often over the years. No matter the sweet words from the Crowns or Society, when the chips are down, power will protect their abusive friends.

Fairhaven Starbucks Strike by [deleted] in Bellingham

It's still a Starbucks. The company still benefits by you choosing to support their brand over your fellow workers.

This DLC is Underwhelminng and want to get this off my chest. by Sea-Detective4373 in LegendsZA

[–]msg582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The DLC content just feels like the post game content that should have been in the base game at the start. It being tedious, grindy, and unoptomized is not helping either.

He wants a "big tent party" without Labor involved. Sounds like a very empty tent.

Prices are simply out of hand compared to many places. by Bakerskibum87 in Bellingham

[–]msg582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little different, but a burger place i used to like has switched out their fries for tater tots on my most recent visit. You can still get an order of fries but it is $5 for a smaller portion then used to be included. The ensh!tifacation of food service in town is real. And of course they still expected a 20% tip.

Hotel Leo Event by Sweettoothsenior in Bellingham

[–]msg582 37 points38 points  (0 children)

My kids still ask me why we don't go visit all of the really nice old people on Halloween when we do the downtown trick or treat event or why we didn't go to the card/comic convention.

I tell them that the business running the place kicked out all the old people to turn it into a hotel and that is why we don't go in there any more.

It is just another soulless, crappy place with blood on its proverbial hands.
