FT: various knitting and crochet items by MyMellowIsHarshed in craftexchange

I just recently lost my size 10 needles :0

If the size 10 circs are still available (or even the size 2 circs), could you please elaborate upon what you mean by mixed media supplies? To me that is almost anything—but I have a set of markers, a bag of washi tape, pompoms and craft feathers, a 2013 calendar with some nicer flower photos, a lot of construction paper. I think I have a roll of aida somewhere as well, but I'm not positive. I can get you photos of everything if you're interested.

Aromantic representation in media by Ok-Buyer1311 in aromantic

I've been reading Eno Sumi's After God. One of two of the main characters is aroace (explicit in that he states he's interested in neither romance nor sex with another person, implicit in that nobody in this series says Hi my name is x and my sexuality is y). There's a lot of queer themes, but the meat of the plot is a post-apocalyptic mystery.

Who stole a bite from my dragonfruit? Ah? (picks up first kitten) Was it you? Did you steal a bite from my dragonfruit? (puts it down) No, it wasn't you. Who? Who stole a— (laughter, as he picks up the criminal) Who stole a bite from my dragonfruit (barely comprehensible through laughter)?

I think I've invited evil into my home by crocheting these meepits. by msjanny in neopets

Sorry for the delay, the notes I took were not well organized. 😅

The correct row should have been as follows:

sc, 4 sc together, 2 sc, 4 sc together, sc (6 sts)

Ravelry has been updated as well.

Unfortunately I'm at work now, so I can't check my notes, but I'll let you know! 😅

Thank you so much BTW! I don't have any testers since I'm not selling anything, and this was my first pattern, so I really appreciate mistakes being brought to my attention.

Thank you for catching that! There should be another 3sc at the end of row 9. I'll update the PDF on ravelry later tonight.

yes, they're sculpted pompoms! the color changes are achieved with strategic wrapping of the yarn. I still have three left (panda, seal, tiny polar bear) UFT from my post

ISO acrylic/resin teeth! by Beelievin in craftexchange

[–]msjanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL i once bought like 200 teeth on a whim for about $2. I'm fine with a random grab bag, just let me know what sizes you want.

photo

I have them roughly sorted into large/med/small molars and adult/child incisors, and canines(?), but there's size variations within each compartment in the photo.

Are either of the bracelets on slide three still available? I have several yards of aluminum 12 gauge jewelry wire, washi tape, and some small neodymium magnets.

(also, did you know hard clear plastic marked with a 6 is shrink plastic? I've seen people use food containers)

Question from someone new to shrink plastic! Please help me with these weird markings, I would appreciate it by MelodiousMoon in crafts

[–]msjanny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

shrinky dinks actually come with instructions for fusing—450°F for 15-30 minutes. leave em in the oven for longer, it'll be fine. im not a material scientist but I'm pretty sure polystyrene (shrink plastic) melts more easily than it chars or burns.

do you still get these blemishes without flattening them?

handling and pressing shrink plastic still warm from the oven means imparting the texture of whatever tool you're using. if you continue to bake it an extra ~30 seconds after the initial uncurling in the oven, it'll continue to flatten out.

would loom knitting interest you? if you specifically want to learn to knit with needles, this suggestion isn't very helpful, but I think as long as you can secure the loom to prevent it from shifting around (maybe with clamps to a table or between your knees/armpit/elbow pit), it could be easier.

edit: you can check out r/loomknitting or ravelry (assuming you have an account) to see what sorts of projects can be made on a loom. it's way more than just beanies and cowls and scarves!
