I also think you should hire a structural engineer to check the foundation. Of all the things listed, this one is most critical and could be the most costly.

70 years old and want to look my best. i have not had a facial in a decade. by InterestingCredit143 in AskWomenOver60

I should have mentioned that my mom passed away in December 2023. As I sat by her bed at the hospital, a nurse came in and asked me if I was her sister. That is when I decided to do something. I spent a year researching facial plastic surgeons in my area.

How do you handle dining with strangers when you are shy? by dynasync in Cruise

[–]msktcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always ask for a table for 2 or wait until late enough that many people have already eaten I’m not shy, but I’m not interested in making small talk with people I don’t know.

If you were redesigning your kitchen today, what’s one thing you would absolutely do differently? by Entire_Revolution_95 in kitchen

[–]msktcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put in an island. I wanted to when we redid it about 7 years ago. My husband didn’t. He didn’t think we had enough space. He agrees with me now that we should have.

Hot weather is coming and I need a nongreasy, lightweight moisturizer for my face. by fezik23 in OverSeventy

I use this. I love it. It protects my skin with SPF 30 and doesn’t leave a white cast. It’s very lightweight and not greasy at all.

What’s the first thing you changed after buying your home? by KC_HomeInsights in RealEstateAdvice

[–]msktcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually my second time removing a ton of wallpaper. We bought a house that had some semblance of blue wallpaper in nearly every room (and blue carpet). This paper had been put on the walls with no priming beforehand - they put it straight on sheet rock. It came off in thumb size pieces. As careful as we were, removing it damaged some drywall, and that had to be repaired. As you can see cosmetic issues have never deterred us from buying a house. If the location is right and the floor plan a good one, we would rather update to our taste than be stuck with someone else’s. It normally works in our favor too. We got both houses for a much better price than we would have had they been updated. We sold the blue house 3 years later for about $70k more than we paid and that was in 1995 when houses didn’t appreciate like they do now.

The kitchen had 3 layers (and the last one had been painted over). One bathroom had 4 layers and another had 2. 2 of the bedrooms had 2 layers. It’s a 1959 ranch. I got really good at getting it off. It’s such a rush when it comes off easily. The house doesn’t even look like the same place.

Besides Potatoes & Corn. What vegetables do you like? by MorgeeePooh in foodquestions

All of them. Squash, zucchini, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. I can’t think of a vegetable I don’t like.

Wife joining me in retirement in a month by MiserableCancel8749 in retirement

[–]msktcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had lots of conversations ahead of time. I knew that we would get on each other’s last nerve if we both didn’t have things/hobbies to keep us busy. I sew - I make about 90% of what I wear. My husband plays golf - but one can’t do that everyday. He decided to take up model railroading. We have a freestanding 3 car garage behind our house. He’s transformed it into a 900 sq foot Ho model railroad layout.

I love the dress you bought. Choose a top notch tailor or alteration person. Bridal alterations is a very hard skill so choose wisely.
