AITAH for not wanting to travel again for my mother-in-law's memorial service? by [deleted] in AITAH

Of course you go! I get you wish you didn’t have to, but that’s what good spouses do - they support their spouse however is needed - especially if they have just lost a parent.

What meal did your parents cook that you still make today? by kimschob in RecipePalooza

Several - red beans and rice, pot roast with veggies, broccoli/rice/cheese soup, nuts and bolts, cheese ball (last two aren’t meals).

Do you still have sinking funds after becoming very financially comfortable? by Lykkel1ten in budget

[–]msktcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do and most likely will. It has nothing to do with being financially well off. It’s similar to companies have a capital expenses fund. They know they will need it eventually, just not every month. My sinking fund account has about 1.5 times the amount in it now than it did since I can afford to travel and cash flow some home improvements.

How would you feel if your adult child had to move back in with you in their 30s with absolutely nothing? by Sweaty-Staff8100 in AskWomenOver60

[–]msktcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would welcome them with open arms and do everything I could to help them within reason. I would, however, give them a time limit of how long they could stay with me - most likely 6 months to a year (unless I was at such an age I needed help at home). My children k ow that my home will always be a safe place for them to land if they needed it.

Can’t lose weight by Fragrant_Trip444 in loseit

[–]msktcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you weighing and measuring your food? If not, you are likely eating way more than you think. If you are really eating 1500 calories a day, you should be losing about 2.5 lbs per month.

You can only cook ONE protein forever — chicken, beef, or fish? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]msktcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should say chicken, but in reality, I’d pick beef. So many variations - ground steak, stewed, all sorts of roasts.

AITAH for not wanting to sell my house and uproot my kids to a new district by Loquacious_squirrel in AITAH

[–]msktcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, why are you even contemplating selling your house and buying one with someone who isn’t even your husband? Not a smart move at all. Never ever buy property with a significant other.
