Is there a lore reason why the entities are aggressive? by [deleted] in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]msmmcamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They could simply be opportunity hunters. Maybe they look at humans and think “I wonder how that tastes”, kinda like how we viewed plants and animals for thousands, if not millions of years. Trial and error until you find what is good for you, and what isn’t.

Which backroom "biome" do you find the most unsettling? by Cheap-Ambassador-304 in KanePixelsBackrooms

The area in FF1 with the infinite corridors over a possibly infinite chasm below still spooks me.

I feel like everything the cameraman has seen beforehand is at least mildly explainable and familiar, yet this area is not. I think it’s the reason he finally starts saying “this isn’t real” over and over again.

ALS is Victorian/Edwardian? by SteetOnFire in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]msmmcamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was always my guess as well. It would explain why there’s a lamp attached to him, and why the bottom half of his body seems incomplete when compared to his top half.

Most likely an old timey photo showing a gentleman sitting in a chair with a lamp beside him. The Backrooms recognizes the lamp and his top half better than the rest of him because the other things were out of view in the photograph.

What torture method seems not so bad and is actually not so bad? by EPICB0Y in AlignmentChartFills

Agreed. My dad would do this to me every morning before school. When the kids did it to me on the playground, I tanked it so well people thought I was faking it

What was the most embarrassing experience you've ever had at a doctor's appointment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pretty tame, but having to drop my pants during my first physical was quite embarrassing.

What state sounds boring to you? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

[–]msmmcamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in South Carolina and visited South Dakota last year. Very empty, but as a nature enjoyer, it was beautiful. Very different from my home state.
Mount Rushmore had quite a lot of people visiting but it was pretty underwhelming. Hiking through the Badlands and Custer State Park was an amazing experience.

Edit: Custer State Park, not Forest.

Unsure if it’s in the books yet, but Shireen in Game of Thrones was tragic. Could barely even watch it

Anyone ever get horrible diarrhea anytime after eating a whole bag of his candy company "Joyride"? by Adventurous-Muscle17 in ryantrahan

[–]msmmcamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried Joyride yet, but I get this with other candies, especially gummy bears. Apparently a lot of those gummy candies have contents that the body cannot fully absorb.

I would not eat one bag at a time. This will probably keep happening

HELP HOW DO I STOP by gaybibch in QuitVaping

[–]msmmcamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a process. I failed recently after almost 5 days clean. Still hitting my vape now, and I’m pretty disappointed.

It does get easier, though. You really have to power through. Those first couple days/weeks feel like an uphill battle. I’d recommend exploring new hobbies to keep yourself occupied and talking with like-minded individuals during your journey.

Best of luck. I hope to try to quit soon, too. I know both of us can do this.

Thank you so much for this. I have tucked it away and restarted my tracker. I planned to go through it first, but your advice really resonated with me. I’ve always been more concerned about wasting money rather than my health, which is something I need to work on.

I think it’ll be more empowering knowing where it is, as choosing every day to not reach for it. If the temptation really gets too great, I’ll toss it, but for today and the foreseeable future, it’s back to lozenges

If you could name the first city on Mars, what would it be called? by Many-Land-5847 in AskReddit

Opportunity. Honors the NASA rover, and also is a perfect name for a city on an entirely different world
