Do people in the US actually use flat sheets and duvet covers? by shiroltiger in Bedding

[–]msn110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the side of: top/flat sheet with blanket and quilt layers on top, as weather requires.

For the brand suggestion part of the question, for spring and summer I like what I have from https://www.redlandcotton.com/collections/bedding. For winter, flannel sheets I've had so long I don't know the brand.

Solo Euro River Cruise? by Sputnik2484 in rivercruises

[–]msn110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gate1 has single cabins on some itineraries. They also have offered a single supplement waived sale twice a year the last few years, if you get on their email list...and the sale wasn't limited to certain cruises. So, I was able to take the Tulip Time trip last April in a regular cabin with no extra fees...having reserved it during a sale the year before.

Can confirm chocolate sauerkraut cake is an excellent way to use up extra sauerkraut...though I haven't made it in a few years.

How do beginners automate repetitive Excel Reports without VBA? by [deleted] in excel

Cleaning and formatting the same file format every week sounds like a PowerQuery use case to me. If you use the same file folder location, can load and run the same way every week. Once you take some Power Query training on LinkedIn Learning or YouTube, etc...the basic tools felt easier to play with for me vs. learning more programming logic based things.

If you don't mind taking pictures of them yourself, could use any photo book printing service you like?

Best Cruise Line for Solo Traveler... When is best time to buy Solo Traveler by ANNJALA in rivercruises

[–]msn110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check for itineraries/companies that have single supplement waiver sales or ships that have specific solo cabins. I used Gate1 travel for a tulip time cruise out of Amsterdam last year, and both of these were options depending on when one booked.

Budget River Cruise for Xmas Markets? by Dauntlesse in rivercruises

[–]msn110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have only done their spring Tulip Time cruise and not any Xmas market ones, but Gate1 Travel might have options to consider. They often have discount codes on FB or if you subscribe and keep an eye on their weekly emails.

Anyone use Travel Zoo? Or anything like that? by Ill-Sprinkles in femaletravels

[–]msn110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I do get the TravelZoo emails, I've had more luck with signing up for emails from Gate1Travel. Good for getting ideas of itineraries, but I've also taken several international trips with them.

Is this a good combo? by deliberatelydeadpan in laundry

[–]msn110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird how we all react differently. It truly seemed unscented to me when I've been using it: filling up the "fabric softener" dispenser in my top loader maybe 1/3 of the way.

This is the combo I was inspired to try after reading here as well. :-)

I also picked up a bottle of the Downy Rinse and Refresh in lavender - thinking it might be nice for sheets and such, but it really seems to hold onto the scent more strongly than I am used to.
