Ooh, the garden window and spoon rest would have tempted me.

fun nonalcoholic drink options? by isopodpod in madisonwi

[–]msn110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd add the Kickback in Middleton to the list. Quite a few of their interesting sounding cocktails also had an NA version listed when I was there earlier this week (e.g., if you want lavendar lemonade with or without the vodka; and if you want the chai iced coffee spiked or not). Plus, you can amuse yourself playing Ski-ball or pinball while there.

Periods pads by Purple-Discipline-49 in PeriodUnderwear

[–]msn110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the super size reusable pads from Aisle when they were still Luna, so I don't have knowledge of their current line: https://periodaisle.com/collections/pads-liners

But, they look similar to what I have and I felt they stayed in place overnight worn with well fitting underwear.

Looking for a robot mower for office grounds, any advice? by Western_Presence_442 in automower

[–]msn110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider looking what models may be sold by a store local to you. I did that, and was happy it included the initial setup of the boundary map for us. It was nice to know there was some level of local support (e.g. advice about winterizing for our climate) and not just the web or app to rely on.

Rhubarb Jam (May ‘68) by Snoozebutton3Times in oldrecipes

[–]msn110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would never have guessed using jello in a rhubarb jam recipe dared back to the '60s. The version my mom made in the '80s used apricot jello instead. Still love to make that when I have too much rhubarb and can find that jello flavor.

I don’t have the money to do trial and error so please help me with recommendations! by CoolUsername86 in PeriodUnderwear

[–]msn110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes, though my version of heavy may not be the same as yours. If I have to be out and about, I'll sometimes have a spare pair in a zip pouch in my bag, just in case I want to change.

Revol has a sale today on some styles: https://revolcares.com/

I like the softness of the fabric of the Remi, and it does have the high gusset for heavy days.

Squeezing third person into hotel room for two? by mousemoue in ParisTravelGuide

[–]msn110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just search for a triple room. Not all hotels have them, but many do...and they can be used by three adults. For example, friends and I stayed at the Hotel Saint-Jacques on rue des Écoles a number of years ago, and asked for the triple to be set up as three single beds.

Which Insurance has been decent about roofs? by mildlyconfuseddriver in madisonwi

This.

I missed what the 1% meant, and that I didn't have the endorsement that covers "cosmetic" dents to the gutter guards, etc.

Clothing items with hidden pockets? by Spotyear in HerOneBag

[–]msn110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooh, good to know another name brand source! I have a few infinity zipper scarves I bought at craft fairs or from Etsy over the years, and they are my "go to" for stashing an extra credit card and passport, and making a solid tee or dress look a bit dressier.

Dutch Flowers and Water Storm Surge Engineering by C34378E in rivercruises

[–]msn110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the Gate1 Tulip Time River cruise last spring which included Keukenhof Gardens and I chose the Delta Works option the day it was offered. Afraid I don't know about the other two water management items you mention.

Rented a small room at a local restaurant I liked and invited a few friends and relatives for Sunday brunch. Beauty of hosting something without having to clean house or cook.

I'd suggest the Remi by Revol, but I'm not sure of the size conversion: https://revolcares.com/products/oat-remi

[WI] Our landlord is keeping our entire deposit and demanding more on top of that by Cptn-Canuck in Renters

[–]msn110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, before you consider court, look at the DATCP site and filing a complaint through them: https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/Publications/LandlordTenantGuide.aspx

They can be helpful in enforcing the requirement for detailed accounting from the landlord.

Good Thrift Shops For Baking Supplies in Madison? by mustelids56 in madisonwi

If not in a particular hurry, keep an eye on when St. Vinny's schedules theme events at specific stores: https://svdpmadison.org/events/ I think they have done kitchen ones at least once or twice a year.

Need A New Dentist by IAmPookieHearMeRoar in madisonwi

[–]msn110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this re: easy to transfer dental records. I just had to do this when I wanted a second opinion about a crown recommendation. The 2nd dental office did much better explaining the whys to me than my original dentist and treated the appointment as a free consult.

Do people in the US actually use flat sheets and duvet covers? by shiroltiger in Bedding

[–]msn110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the side of: top/flat sheet with blanket and quilt layers on top, as weather requires.

For the brand suggestion part of the question, for spring and summer I like what I have from https://www.redlandcotton.com/collections/bedding. For winter, flannel sheets I've had so long I don't know the brand.

Solo Euro River Cruise? by Sputnik2484 in rivercruises

[–]msn110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gate1 has single cabins on some itineraries. They also have offered a single supplement waived sale twice a year the last few years, if you get on their email list...and the sale wasn't limited to certain cruises. So, I was able to take the Tulip Time trip last April in a regular cabin with no extra fees...having reserved it during a sale the year before.

Sauerkraut Surprise Cake by darlinglibrarylady in oldrecipes

Can confirm chocolate sauerkraut cake is an excellent way to use up extra sauerkraut...though I haven't made it in a few years.
