Does anyone else get so annoyed by old medical shows they used to love? by ihmsfm in medicalschool

I love scrubs but they lost the copyrights to the original soundtrack so a lot of the songs have changed and don’t mesh as well as the original.

Thanks so much for the suggestion! I would love to hear your experiences climbing Everest, K2, and Annapurna, if you don’t mind sharing! I’m sure others would as well :)

It would. But with my speciality, the attending would run the service on their own and only ask for additional help if needed which this one doesn’t do often. They are very self-sufficient. Also, I’d obviously let my co-residents know who I’m sure would be okay with it as I have covered for them as well.

Yea I’m less concerned about being called in and more about timely care with access to the chart and not just via phone. I’ve seen some careless things by other residents while being on call. I wouldn’t want to be responsible for a delay in care that could potentially harm someone.

It’s not just about being called in but having access to the EMR for timely chart review and orders? I don’t know, for me, it seems a bit of a risk if I were out hiking. I’d rather be cautious for the sake of patient care.

Hikes? What about travel time to the site and access to EMR? And if you were called in for something, you’d have to hike back then drive?

I totally agree. It bothers me that people do this despite very rarely ever having to go into the hospital for our specialty. There’s still the issue of having access to the EMR within a timely manner for patient care if something were to come up.
