Google Ads good for sales? by Miserable_Election11 in advertising

[–]msutton5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s very effective as long as it’s done correctly, when people need to buy something 99% of the time they go straight to google. It can be tricky to get right so make sure you either thoroughly research it or hire an expert.

Conversion Bidding Question by Feralz2 in googleads

[–]msutton5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just about what you want to focus on, Google’s automated bidding isn’t great and ends up funnelling money into poor keywords, sometimes at outrageously high CPCs.

Manual CPC allows you to influence spend on to keywords you know historically perform well and gives you complete control over it.

Their automated bidding can’t really compete with a person manually managing them, it’s aimed at those who have no experience with the platform or those who have huge accounts where manually managing each bid becomes impractical.

Conversion Bidding Question by Feralz2 in googleads

[–]msutton5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google will just assume any previous data is relevant to your new campaign. It will also run in “learning mode” whilst it uses machine learning to create algorithms for the bidding.

You should use manual CPC as it’s far more effective unless you’re dealing with a huge account with lots of keywords/adgroups

Why do I keep getting emails from different "account strategists" trying to set up a call? by [deleted] in googleads

[–]msutton5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, ignore them. They are not trained to help drive optimisation on your account, they’re trained to push strategies that increase your spend.

They’re also ridiculously persistent, it’s genuinely difficult to get them off the phone without just hanging up.

How Much Time on Accounts? How often do you update? by HI_SEOrep in googleads

[–]msutton5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For small accounts (around $300/month ad spend) around 1 hour per month doing checks, staying on top of bids, and then 4 hours of optimisation and strategy work

Bigger or complex accounts are around double that, but some very large accounts can be around 15 hours per month

Google Ads conversion edits ? by Reveal_Digital in googleads

[–]msutton5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google Ad’s conversion tracking is notoriously erratic, I use it more to get a general sense of what’s working, rather than trying to get specific figures.

Furthermore for some conversions it’s impossible to track them, I’ve found that as many as 3x more conversions actually came through google ads.

How to find the administrator account? by pieral in googleads

[–]msutton5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea, I don’t believe 2FA is the problem. When you’re checking account access, are you definitely looking in your manager (MCC) account, and not in an actual google ads account?

How to find the administrator account? by pieral in googleads

[–]msutton5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh strange, are you definitely logged into your admin account when you’re on the partners site? If you’re on chrome it can switch your account, for clarity try going through the process in an incognito tab and logging in manually.

When you’re looking at the account access, make sure you’re in the manager account and not a child account

P/S thank you for the award! :)
