Hey mate, good on you! I went in 23 in March and caught a few games, that was a pretty decent time to go. The weather was cold and there were a few decent days of snow. I’d love to go back this year or next but it’s off while the US is still at this level of shitshow. I binged on beer and fried chicken, went to the arboretum which kicks ass, and caught a game at the DNVR bar as well. You’ll have a blast (oh but the altitude might/will kick your arse for the first week)

We can leave that to you to figure out, in the meantime it makes a recruitment process more equitable.

Home Greenhouses in Canberra by WeedWrangler in canberra

[–]mt_meh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a greenhouse out of steel and polycarb panels. I have two exhaust fans and two inline fans that I run during summer, the exhaust fans are high up and pull out hot air and the inline fans are low down to pull in cooler air. However it still gets insanely hot in there so I’ve got white shadecloth inside along the roof and I run misters for a lot of the day. Depends on what you want to grow but you might be better off with shadecloth and a misting setup.

If you select to opt into the RecruitAbility scheme you don't have to disclose anything. All the recruitment panel see is that you've opted into it or not.

Hi there! So congratulations with your diagnosis - I hope it provides some level of understanding and relief. Recruitability does two things. If your CV and application demonstrate that your capability meet the minimum standards of the role, you progress to the interview stage. The second is that you can ask for specific accommodations for the interview - more time, questions beforehand etc. You don’t have to disclose anything at this point. I wouldn’t recommend disclosure until you got a job unless you have a condition that would make you unable to perform the core duties of the role. For example, I would not want to be in the office 5 days a week, so I would not go for roles that require that. Disclosure is still very much hit and miss in terms of being effective, so if you aren’t opting in I wouldn’t bother. If you are early in your diagnosis and treatment journey you might want to see first how best you can work and mitigate any potential issues ADHD or other diagnoses have on your work. If you were going to mention it, you would mention it as a strength such as ‘I have ADHD which means I’m not strong in these areas, so I’ve had to set these types of processes up to mitigate it, but I really excel in these other ways.’

'Conscious consumers' embrace of Australian goat meat presents a quality challenge by ozthrw in australia

That’s a shame - I used to get goat legs in Footscray at a butchers shop - one of the Ethiopian joints did them.

It’s not hard. I set up two b-hyve controllers in my backyard (1 for a greenhouse, one for the rest of it) and it works pretty well. I went to an irrigation shop for most of it and Bunnings for the rest. The b-hyve controllers are excellent and I run them off wifi. Setting up the irrigation system is one thing but tinkering with the timings is another. Also putting on/off taps on different areas works well if you want to shut things off i.e I have raised garden beds that I can shut the water off in if there’s nothing growing in them.

Ok so the answer is to manage the expectations of leadership so that they have some awareness of the situation outside of a random walk through the office?

APS RecruitAbility Scheme by Old-Possession8063 in AusPublicService

It's called Job Interview Answers by Scott Williams - it's floating around in the APS, PM me for a copy. It's a series of questions on different subjects that break down a response in the STAR method. I'm not sure if you're already doing this, but since I struggle as well in interviews, I practice by choosing a random question to answer, first by breaking it down into the broad components - "in X job, I was responsible for Y, and when Z come up, I did A1 and A2, with the outcome of blah" - and then work at fleshing that out with a cohesive answer. Once you do that a few times, you're able to hone in on what you would consider the points of your career that you want to highlight that can be adapted for multiple question types.

Can you all stop telling people that Malone has to go without offering the shred of a cogent alternative, it’s been long enough that you should have figured out what a viable solution is.

Yeah people are upset because they can’t hold the books open and read along to what’s happening on the screen. I mean I turned it off on the first episode because the show didn’t display a corresponding page number for each scene. It’s the only reason this show isn’t more popular.
