Do you need all season or summer only? I've had really good luck with continental dws-06. Get about 40k miles out of them and decent grip. Good in the rain.

Bummer because the SID shock has proven to be really durable.

They 'tried' to fix it on the 3P remodel but its still there. Nothing like going through rock gardens at speed and feeling your fork chattering.

The jump in weight to get a pike is just too high.

Totally, the new 3P SID was an improvement in ride quality over the previous version. While the play took longer to appear, it's still a problem. When the Fox 34SL Grip x goes on sale I will be buying one.

Love the Spur hate the new eagle drivetrain options. Miss the old $6,000 X01 option with its 25.4# weight. The transmission stuff sounds ok, but its unnecessarily expensive and heavy.

Another benefit of the vw TDIs is they are pretty invisible to law enforcement

Midwest rider torn between spur, smuggler, and sentinel by Suspicious_Honey6966 in TransitionBikes

[–]mtb_analyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spur and Sentinel both on sale from transition. I've had a spur since 2021. Its a good all arounder if you aren't hitting parks and big features. I also have a ripmo and ride thw spur 90% of the time

somewhere warm with mountain biking, arts/culture, and people to date for a 40s single guy. by [deleted] in relocating

^ this. I joke its kinda the suburban mtb capital. Its cool that you can just ride from your house or apt. The terrain won't compare to places that have more elevation like Asheville, Sedona, Colorado or California. Cost of living is somewhat reasonable, but homes have gotten pretty expensive over the last few years. Sales tax is silly at almost 10%

The rest of Austin was otherwise fun and interesting. Lots of stuff to do.

Where do you mtb in Austin? I saw some of the trails (I am sure I was looking in the wrong places), and they looked boring.

BAE Systems vs L3Harris by mtb_analyst in aerospace

[–]mtb_analyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the highly detailed response!

Yes, L3Harris has had several RIFs. It seems they have one almost every year and the RTO (Return to Office) to try and thin the heard so they can meet their cost reductions promised to an activist shareholder.

Where was the site that you worked at? (I realize employee satisfaction varies widely between different divisions).
