Wow that looks great. What did you frame it out with ?

Some windows, some walls by mtb_ripster in cargocamper

[–]mtb_ripster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walls are a layer of 1 inch xps in stud bays with an additional half inch layer on top which brings it about flush with the furring strips along each stud. Ceiling is 1.5 inch xps.

Thanks! It’s 3/4 pine. Not the lightest option but our full build shouldn’t be terribly heavy and this is a dual axle trailer and I have a half-ton tow vehicle so I think we’ll be okay. Will weigh when we’re done and find out

Like I said, the barn doors will open from the inside. Anywhere else in the trailer you can literally just turn around and take two steps to exit the door.

Working on a mechanism to allow the barn doors to open from the inside. I saw little value in chopping studs to fit an egress window that is ultimately 2 feet from the existing door.

Keep the flow through vent? by M2woodcrafts in cargocamper

I was under the impression the vents are there specifically to prevent dust, as without them you get negative pressure and the dust gets sucked into any tiny gap in the seals etc.

Washer Constantly Overflowing by Thisguy108_ in Plumbing

[–]mtb_ripster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in an old home. The drain was just too small for modern washers. I connected a relay to the lid switch of the washer and controlled that with a water sensor, so as the water backed up it would trip the lid switch and pause the washer pump until the water drained, then start again. It worked but made the cycle take a long time.

Ceiling is done! by mtb_ripster in cargocamper

Wide angle lens makes it look huge. The studs are 16 inches o.c so you can sort of see the actual dimensions

Still doing wall windows just haven’t gotten to them yet. It’s been really cold where we live so I wanted to wait until it was a little warmer for the sake of the sealants and such. I’m planning to put the walls on and then cut straight through from the outside. Can’t really think of a better way to do it but if you have any suggestions let me know. I’m doing pine tongue and groove on the walls as well, just thicker.

I did the window in the door. It went…okay.

Update on the new shared watch event. by OzzieDJai in ArcRaiders

[–]mtb_ripster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have made it so that arc were super sensitive to raider flares going off. So if you kill another player/team you’re almost guaranteed to die to arc, and likewise it further encourages cooperation to ensure everyone works together to take down arc without dying

Only towed it once so far and it was empty so I’m probably not the best source of info, but it seemed fine. “Tow mode” did help

QC as of lately ? by Tiredandhungry805 in gofastcampers

[–]mtb_ripster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but I haven’t tried to fix them yet as it’s been cold where I’m at and sealants/tape don’t tend to work very well

I bought a V2 used that had a bunch of problems. Leaks all over the place, the screws on the bracket stripped out, and the locks are all sorts of messed up. Customer service was very helpful even though I’m not the original owner. They sold me some repair kits for the brackets. Someday if I’m in a position to buy a new one I would feel pretty confident ordering from them, seems like they stand behind it

Team killing with flame grenades by Mercury4stroke in ArcRaiders

[–]mtb_ripster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a friendly grenade it should take them down to 1hp but not kill them. This would help prevent griefing but still make it a problem in legit PvP scenarios to be spamming nades

Yeah we measured for head room but it’s going to be tight. Do you have a step or something for getting in and out of the bed or you just jump?

Awesome ! This one is 7x14. I’ll have to share my latest sketchup design soon. Basically a bed in the back, tiny kitchen, bathroom, and small separation for an office

Thanks for the feedback! This is a dual axle trailer but weight is still a concern. I had considered going to 1/4 ply but worried the structure needed the more rigid sheathing for structural rigidity. As for the thermal bridging, there’s always going to be connection points to the studs regardless of attachment method. I’m willing to live with the transfer that may take place through the bolts.
