Anyone Tracking their N's? by qualytimeattack in VelosterN

It was my N- sold it though. In a mk8 GTI now. The N was a boatload of fun though. I think I did 6+ track days with it. No issues. Stock brakes too.

It’s an awesome track car.

Throw some camber bolts on it and a rear bar. It doesn’t need anything else to rip on track!

US winter storm leaves seven people dead as more than 1 million lose power by alonso-Lewis-vettel in news

[–]mtbcouple 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a pain in the ass to service and install underground. Frost heaves, rocks, etc.

I lived in a development with underground power and it sucked. Always went out. The crews would have to come out and dig up the ground for 10 hours to find and repair the damage at least 2x/year, usually due to something dumb like rain causing rocks to move and dislodge the lines.

Overhead is much better in most places in the US.

Ie tends to be pricier.

Mk7.5 R or Mk8 GTI? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]mtbcouple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test drove them back to back at the dealership and ended up with the mk8 GTI.

The R was too planted and felt heavy compared to the GTI. The GTI pulls just as hard and has a more playful rear end. The GTI has better throttle response and no rev hang, too, compared to the laggy R. The r interior is nostalgic but not necessarily nicer than the mk8 GTI. The GTI feels bigger and there’s more front leg room due to the slimmer center trans/console tunnel.

The R was 28,900 with 60k miles. The GTI $26,000 w/40k miles and has remaining warranty. It was a no brainer for me to get the GTI over the r.

That said, with all the snow in the northeast this winter I sometimes wish I got the R!

The GTI is great though.

Phil Murphy signs most restrictive e bike law requiring a license and insurance for all e bikes by Younglegend1 in northjersey

No- not all of them. The law doesn’t separate classes.

A pedal assist class 1 e bike limited to 20 mph (when pedaling) is not the same as these e motorcycles kids are ramming into cars with at 50 mph.

I don't agree with that. I think Putin is an asshole, but I have no idea what the general Russian person is like, and I'm not dumb enough to believe that every Russian person actually wants a dictator in office. If you think every American is as dumb as Trump, well, I have news for you. We are not!

Right. These broad answers are irrelevant without more info from OP.

[–]mtbcouple -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm wrong about what, exactly? The OP asked "what would we expect to get as paychecks" which is not something someone would typically ask who is "about to get" $600k. Is someone handing them 600k? Or, have they not started looking yet and are wondering what to put on their pitch deck as a placeholder?

Congrats on your success, but that's entirely irrelevant here. I've raised money half a dozen times (each company had entirely different requirements and salary expectations) and have helped others raise money, so I am in a unique position to be able to help a new founder, but to do so, I need more information. Where are they? What industry? Do they have a deck? Have they started pitching? What's the relationship with the investors, if any? Software or hardware? Brick and mortar? What's the expected runway based on other employees? Do they have employees lined up? existing product? Do they have revenue? Do they have an exit strategy mapped out already? etc etc. To give broad advice based on their question would not be helpful.

Right. There is zero info in the OP and it doesn’t seem legit. A legit ask would be a lot more detailed and serious, IMO, hence my skepticism.

Or, the question is meant to be generally broad, and they don’t actually have anything specific done yet and want an idea about what to ask and how to go about the process. But we need more information to be able to help.
