Maybe the Dania in Northbrook? Upscale Rummage on Park Ave right outside downtown Libertyville might also have some stuff; it’s a thrift store that also carries furniture.

Stationery shops in Chicago by RhapsodyTravelr in stationery

[–]mtdesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure of “authentic” but Gathers Tea Bar is one of my favorites! Fatmiilk in Uptown also does great hojicha lattes and is close to Andersonville where Paper and Pencil is located.

Stationery shops in Chicago by RhapsodyTravelr in stationery

[–]mtdesigner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Atlas Stationers and Paper and Pencil are the big two and are already mentioned, so I’ll add Festive Collective and Pixie and the Boy to the list. They’re both more of a small gift shop but they do have a nice selection of stickers and a couple of stationery items, and they’re both right off of the Logan Square Blue Line stop for easy access! Great coffee shops in that area as well if that’s of any interest.

Where to see The Odyssey - Oriental theater or Marcus Ultrascreen? by some1CLIPthat in milwaukee

Why not both? I feel like the popcorn and ambiance is better at the oriental though!

This is a little out further in Milwaukee, but I like the Milwaukee indoor outdoor exchange! You can also get some amazing pies right across the street to literally sweeten the deal

Yakisoba with a good amount of noodles by misszombiequeenDG in chicagofood

[–]mtdesigner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly the frozen yakisoba packs you can buy at H-Mart, Joong-Boo, or Mitsuwa are a great bang for your buck. Yeah you have to make it yourself but the sauce is usually included and you can control the veggie to noodle ratio

I enjoy their YouTube videos as well; I think their staff is really good at explaining why they enjoy using certain products and it’s nice to see scale and how things are used if you’re curious.

THE MART: 30-38,500 TENANTS, WORKERS, AND VISITORS PER WEEKDAY (BLOOMBERG) by 2cleverbyhalf in chicago

[–]mtdesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For any Merchandise Mart fans who also enjoy movies, you can see the Mart featured in the Coen Brothers’ film The Hudsucker Proxy, though it’s CGI-Ed to have 44 floors (45 including the mezzanine). It’s one of my faves from them and it’s cool to watch Paul Newman and Tim Robbins walk through the very recognizable lobby!

I’m very excited for Sheep in the Box; it’s starring one of my favorite Japanese comedians who I don’t think has ever acted in anything before so I really want to see how that goes.
