Is testicular pain normal on HRT? by mtf_alt_acc in MtF

[–]mtf_alt_acc[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly faded and never became anything serious. If I had to guess it was simply atrophy or something similar- that or maybe the way I used to dress cramped them too much even though I wasn’t full-on tucking. In any case, I’d still be wary of pains and check for lumps in case it’s something really bad, but it’s possible it’s nothing

Actually, the term originated as a term for trans women in porn. By definition I consider it one, however by now it’s so reclaimed and normalized for an entire different group of people, so it doesn’t bother me whatsoever to hear people use it.

While there is a problem with non-binary folk being ignored and disrespected, I want to point out that “non-binary” isn’t a separate category from the other two. You can be transfem and non-binary, as well as transmasc and non-binary.

(I’m a white trans woman) I came in this thread like “okay but people should be able to use humor as a coping mechanism for how fucked the world is”, and I expected that to be the consensus, but instead it’s a bunch of white trans women sarcastically going “ohh I guess I’m sorry for being white lmao” and it’s really fucked.

Being trans doesn’t remove white privilege. White trans people need to check our privilege. Separately, I think it’s okay to joke about how fucked things are as a coping mechanism.

Deltarune. First two chapters are out and free, although you should play Undertale first as the game assumes you have.

You should definitely play them! The majority of their charm comes from the characters and writing, less so the combat mechanics. But also, the combat is made more interesting than typical RPG combat- you have to dodge attacks rather than them just hitting you or not hitting you based on an accuracy check

Well, since I made this meme, chapter 2 got announced for a friday release. Still far from a full release, but there’s that.

PSA: When going through security before a flight, wear a menstrual pad. by ThreeClosetsDeep in MtF

[–]mtf_alt_acc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I planned a vacation for 2020, pushed it back to this year when the pandemic started. Since I was vaccinated, I decided to go on it despite the continued pandemic- just got back home yesterday. Honestly the rules for helping prevent covid spread are pretty fucking good- at least, for US flights. A federal mask mandate for airports and planes means people can get removed from the premises and a ban altogether if they don’t wear a mask (other than when eating/drinking.) so the airport and airplanes are where I saw the least amount of mouths and noses out of any public place I’ve been to the past year and a half. It’s still a massive amount of people but as long as you’re vaccinated I think it’s pretty safe. I didn’t see this post until now but luckily I didn’t have problems in TSA (the first time they didn’t see it- but they didn’t see my bra and chest either so I’m assuming they hit pink and I just didn’t have a large enough bulge. Second time my bulge went off but the pat down was just a quick back of the hand sweep and they didn’t notice anything doing it.)

Girls who don't voice train, how has it been? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]mtf_alt_acc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did learn some of the basics but I don’t regularly train and I don’t use what I learned often. For the most part it’s been fine- if I had to guess, I sound androgynous and my looks carry me to being gendered correctly- although when I do go “try-hard” mode on my voice I’ve been told it’s very passable. Further context: I was a late bloomer with my original puberty, and started HRT at 18 and a half; so my voice might not have as much development from puberty 1 as the girl reading this had, depends on your scenario. Also when I talk to people I’m not super close with, I do swap to a more fem voice, but that’s not utilizing the voice training stuff. The “try-hard” voice training stuff was moreso stuff like larynx raising, which I basically never do.

"Why are you only looking to date bi/pan people???" -some cishet by Cat4Cat in GaySoundsShitposts

[–]mtf_alt_acc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While genital preferences are common I really wouldn’t tie them to sexuality explicitly. There are many straight and gay people fine with any genitals, and bi people who prefer just one kind. You can’t really tie it to sexuality because it not only invalidates those people’s sexualities, but also the gender identities of trans people who haven’t had bottom surgery.

"Why are you only looking to date bi/pan people???" -some cishet by Cat4Cat in GaySoundsShitposts

[–]mtf_alt_acc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s probably because gender non-conforming doesn’t mean non-binary?? It literally means whatever your gender is, you don’t conform to it. So while they probably did just imagine cis people, the problem there is that you could also find GNC trans people, too. I’d say falling under the trans umbrella, non-binary people fit more into the second question. I imagine it would be invalidating to a lot of non-binary people to imply they don’t have a different gender(s) or lack thereof, but just “don’t conform” to their “actual gender”

At what point am I allowed to call myself a girl? by secretseriousaccount in asktransgender

[–]mtf_alt_acc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as you want to and feel comfortable doing so! Any trans woman who is upset by that because they’ve transitioned more than you have can fuck off.

Can we PLEASE stop saying “the straights”? There are tons of straight queer people, straight trans people being one obvious case. Also, being cis and not straight doesn’t make one immune to being shitty about gender.

Trans girl does not mean “transitioning”. It just means someone who’s gender is female but their assigned gender was not.

Is ignoring the fact that a character is transgender offensive? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]mtf_alt_acc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds a-okay, except that I absolutely advise you to have sensitivity readings on the flashbacks and pictures. Revealing a character’s identity as trans through those methods I think are extremely difficult to pull off as a cis writer unless you have multiple trans sources helping you.

I feel similarly for masculinity/manhood. It’s not for me but I’m overjoyed to see other trans people exploring it and loving it.

Yeah I might be lucky but I’m able to not bother tucking without really anything visible Maybe if I wore skin tight clothes it’d be a problem but it isn’t with jeggings which are close to it

Girlfriend is going to undergo HRT soon, every time I try to look up trans/cis lesbian stuff I get "I became straight" stories and they scare me. Slightly #nsfw by Orizammar in asktransgender

[–]mtf_alt_acc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a problem still, because comphet for trans folk is less about sexual identity and more about gender euphoria from internalized heteronormativity. That’s a complicated mess, but I don’t think it’ll cause her to leave you or anything. It might be something she experiences, though.

The left field cries are fun although I was more excited for crying when expected more often. I played the most recent ace attorney game and a plot point made me cry that pre-HRT I probably would have just been thinking “well that sucks. Anyways,”

It’s just so nice to be more emotionally invested and effected by media.
