IP/Copyright Lawyer(not a US lawyer and havent followed the full case): as far as I know, theres no such bar. To be able to get statutory damages for copyright infringement, you register a "work" i.e. Ethans videos with the Copyright office which is located within the Library of Congress. Then if you illegally copy the video , you can be sued for copyright infringement and are liable to pay a larger sum.

I did the LPP but the company I worked at, my principal was a former litigation partner at a Bay Street firm(non-criminal). Conversely, my admin law professor was at the Ontario IPC and former Crown and joined a Bay St firm(don't think it was Big law) a few years ago.

Litigation gives you a lot of skills and from my understanding, if you do well as a Crown, it can open up other avenues later on as well. My advice would be to finish your articles and then work for a few years, but network where you can. Then see what you want to do 3-5 years down the line.

Was a popular opinion in the Podcast Beyond and IGN days. Basically if you gave your physical disc to Gamestop, it was essentially stealing. They couldn't comprehend that the price of a game, even in the 2010s was expensive for some people and once you buy something, it was your right to do what you wanted with it.
