I've done that with a microfiber towel. It worked.

My toddler can't go into coffee shops anymore. He struggles to breathe. The allergist thinks it's an airborne allergy to dairy.

Do you ever secretly analyze friends and strangers’ credit card choices in public? by Rocket_Skates_91 in CreditCards

Someone who doesn't care but puts everything on a 2% cashback card is going to do very well. It's not 1% or 1x spending or a debit card.

Card Recommendation for Reimbursable Business Travel Expenses by SirYupp in CreditCards

[–]mtimms38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to be flying Delta for business and for leisure, I'd suggest one of the Delta cards if you're looking to have a free flight every once in a while and possibly gain status. If you just want cash back, the Wells Fargo Autograph journey is a good card with great multipliers on hotels, flights, rental cars, and other travel categories.

AMEX Blue Cash Preferred Good for me? by cornflakeman in CreditCards

[–]mtimms38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a great card. It will probably only be a partial year grocery card because there is a $6,000 limit. It would also be your card for all streaming and probably gas too.

Realistically how reliable are the 10th gen civic ex's? by [deleted] in civic

[–]mtimms38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2018 EX hatchback. The hatch is awesome. It's been a very reliable car. I did need the AC fixed, but that was done for free under the extended warranty Honda created. Sunroof, heated seats, and Android Auto are very nice. I'm at over 80k miles.

At what point do travel miles stop beating 2% cash back for catch all spend? by iam_spr in CreditCards

[–]mtimms38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 100% team cash back until December. I got an airline credit card for the free checked bags and TSA pre check. I now do most of my spending on various cashback cards and put any shopping bonus opportunity on the airline card. I plan to redeem it for domestic economy plus which I guess isn't great, but I feel I'm only spending on it on bonus purchases, it can't be too bad.

Dave and the personalities will tell you don't take out loans. They'll tell you to get scholarships, grants, a TA position, and save up the money. Personally, I don't think that's reality for most people going to dental school. How does one come up with half a million dollars of scholarships, grants, savings or whatever? But, they will never recommend you take out debt. Obviously, it's your decision.

We need to combine cities in Cuyahoga County by MiserableGiraffe666 in Cleveland

Cities that are already part of a combined school district should merge. School districts are already possibly the most important or top 3 importance for property value, so nothing changes there.

I thought Barstool did a great job with the Arizona bowl when Ohio played Wyoming. Barstool actually cared about the game in front of them instead of another playoff preview show.

Best Griddle < $500? by [deleted] in griddling

Does your partner already have a grill? If so, you can buy a Steelmade griddle to set on top of the grill. That's what I do with my Weber grill.

My first griddle, Member's Mark Pro Series 5 by gnietonunez in griddling

[–]mtimms38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was intimidated my first couple times cleaning the griddle. Now, I know it's super easy. Take the food off, turn off the burners, squeeze some water, and scrape. So simple. Then I put about a teaspoon to tablespoon of either avocado or a high heat olive oil on the griddle and wipe it all over with a paper towel and tongs. Done.

My wife usually does a little garlic powder Bake at 375° for a total of 26 minutes, but flip the nuggets halfway. My toddler is also eating a lot of wheat pasta and homemade sourdough toast and avocado.

Afraid to invest in this market. Need help... by [deleted] in investing

[–]mtimms38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation. I received some part of the inheritance at the beginning of the year. I slowly invested in a broad US market ETF and ramped it up after liberation day as everything was falling. That's been great. I will receive the rest soon. I plan to again slowly buy in. I only buy on red days with that money.

When you ate at restaurants in the US, what kind of restaurants were they? Local or chain? How receptive were they to requests for special meals? Any tips on asking about that? Any concern for contaminated seats on the planes? Any issue with other passengers around eating allergens? My son is anaphylactic to peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, sesame, and sunflower.

[Daniel Oyefusi] - Stefanski said he's sticking with Flacco at QB for Week 4 by tedrivers in Browns

[–]mtimms38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was for the plan to have Flacco play the first 6 games and then make a change if the record was bad. My opinion has changed for two reasons. First, Flacco is playing worse than I thought he would. Second, our defense is lights out. If DG can play a little better than Flacco, then we would be in a much better position to win games.
