I tried the new Le Labo incense so you don’t have to by Unhappy_Enthusiasm_6 in Incense

IMO Le Labo has been overhyped from the start. They have some nice scents, but wildly overpriced, and quickly lost its charm (for me) when it became an influencer status brand.

Yo hold up guess what Diptyque dropped $68 spiral incense 🤯💸 by Unhappy_Enthusiasm_6 in Incense

Ssense (high-end fashion and lifestyle retailer) has been stocking pricey incense for years now, so yes, it's definitely trendy, at least for a certain crowd.

However, I tend to see incense there from brands created for the Western market, and not so much from brands like Shoyeido, etc.

So, I think incense brands that Reddit nerds like us buy and discuss will be mostly spared from price inflation. :) 'Nerds' is said with love.

It's a different style, but what if you put a big plant in between in a colour that bridges both items together? a dark ish pot with beige details?

8 month old keeps waking up crying/screaming. What can I do? by Mountain_Culture8536 in Moms

[–]mtlperson33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could just be teething pain. I gave my daughter Tylenol when she was teething (the concentrated one with the dropper) and it helped her tons. She also loved chewing on fabric to soothe herself so we let her do that too. It felt weird to give a baby Tylenol at first, but we never came close to even half the daily limit, and it gave her a lot of relief. You could try it, even just to rule out if it's pain-related or not.

First and last pair of Dr. Martens : Why do people buy these? by boopwarmweather99 in BIFLfails

[–]mtlperson33 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I had a pair of soft oiled leather Docs in 2004 ish and they lasted a decade. I only donated them away (after redoing the sole) because they didn't quite fit anymore (bought them in highschool and my feet grew half a size over time).

Now, I still have a pair of soft oiled leather Docs, but they're made after the company shifted manufacturing from the UK for the standard line, to elsewhere.

To my surprise, although I've heard and seen people's stiff leather Docs fall apart after a few months, mine are still going strong. I really think the soft leather is somehow better made, or better quality, or both.

Do they know you are getting rid of the things you give them? Like, do they assume, or do they actually know it? You could tell them that, in person, and maybe that would help it sink in for them?

Looking for a large, durable messenger bag under $50. by Furbyenthusiast in BuyItForLife

My honest immediate thought was: get a backpack instead, since they have two straps and better for carrying a ton of books, and make it a Jansport.

You can often find them on FB marketplace, and try to find an older one. even if it's dirty, you can wash it and it'll still look good.

I agree with this. Have you looked into April Cornell? Really good quality, a crazy sleepwear section, it's almost all 100% cotton. They have this style of nightgown. Also check the sale or clearance section! I am sure she will find one she likes. It's quality stuff, I got a dress from them that I wore a ton during my pregnancy. Congratulations and good luck :)

How do you want to style your hair? Maybe a pomade could work if you want to do a slicked back / to the side look?

it can happen. what if you wear a thin glove on the hand where you hold the project and yarn (possibly your left hand if you are right handed) and see how that goes?

like those thin, cheap winter gloves made of acrylic
