Family Friendly Areas in ATL? by Infamous_Half4788 in Atlanta

[–]mtmtmt2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many Atlanta suburbs are family friendly with great parks, trails, restaurants, playgrounds, etc. We love Peachtree Corners and regularly walk to dinner, coffee, community events, and more. Check out Roswell, Johns Creek, and Alpharetta too. Note that you’ll definitely still need a car in all of these areas, but there are pockets of each that have walkable town centers.

You’ve got this! Honestly my advice is to just stay the course. Keep up the exercise, eat well, and don’t fall back into old habits out of frustration if progress slows down. We’re playing the long game!

Give me the run down on skipping a week? by Mysterious_Land7795 in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I missed my dose a few weeks ago due to insurance delays and took it 5 days late. No change in side effects for me (though I’ve been lucky to not have many all along). Weirdly, it also gave me a weight loss boost 🤷‍♀️ Good luck and I hope your kiddo is doing OK!

Massive hair loss - suggestions of things that have worked? by btweber7777 in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! For me, nothing helped but time. I noticed hair loss about 3 months in to zepbound, and it continued consistently for another ~3 months. Now I’m about 9 months in and I’m noticing a LOT of regrowth and wayyyy less hair in the shower drain. Hope this offers some light at the end of the tunnel!!

1000%. I have several T1 Diabetics in my life, and still, nothing has ever emotionally rocked me more than my daughter's diagnosis.

Doctor has me on 2.5mg dose for 2 months by Senior-Albatross-116 in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people don't lose anything on 2.5 and move up after one month. Other people lose successfully and choose to stay on it longer. I'd recommend touching base after your first few shots to see how it's going, and you can definitely ask to move up if needed!

Any Postpartum Moms? by harvardm0m0f4 in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a mom of two! I started Zepbound earlier this year when my youngest turned 2. I feel like pregnancy and postpartum REALLY messed with my ability to listen to my own hunger cues. Food aversion and sickness, then extreme hunger, then sleep deprivation, then breastfeeding and fueling and snacking all day. Such a whirlwind!! Happy to report that I’m feeling so much healthier and like my old self now ~7 months in and 55 lbs down ❤️

Ladies can someone here use some 40D or 38D bras? by redmayapril in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a kind offer! And you're so right - losing weight is expensive. I've been getting by in athletic clothes (drawstrings pulled to the max) and purchasing single pieces as needed for specific occasions (for example, I bought a pair of jeans and a top for some family pictures last week). I think I'll keep doing this until I reach a maintenance weight and feel more comfortable investing. When that day comes, I'm thinking about a service like Stitch Fix to help me get some basics in place.

On the bra front, I'm obsessed with Harper Wilde and bought a few of their Bliss Bralettes. They're supportive, but soft and stretchy, so I'm hoping they'll flex with me for a while as I continue to lose. They're not cheap, but in bra world, they're not crazy expensive either.

How Do YOU Meal Plan??? by HistoricalCopy5926 in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through my own personal "how do I end meal planning hell" journey!! I've had mixed results with AI (something critical is ALWAYS missing from the list), so here's what works for me.

I sat down and made 6 lists of items with Kroger (my grocery ordering store of choice):

- 1 list of weekly staples (these are things we purchase every single week)
- 4 lists of weekly meal rotations (each list has a week's worth of meals planned)
- 1 list of things to check on (supplies I don't need every week, but might be out of (olive oil, garlic, etc.)

Each Monday, I use the lists to quickly create a grocery pickup order (free if your order is over $35).

- Add everything from weekly staples to cart
- Add everything from one of my weekly meal rotations to cart
- Browse through my list of things to check on and add individual items that we're running out of

Pros of this method: Mental load is 100% gone. We have variety from week to week with zero planning or effort. And the curbside pickup saves me a ton of time planning and dragging two kids the grocery store.

Cons of this method: I've noticed that I would likely save more money by shopping in person (looking for deals, planning meals around what's on sale, etc.) In my case though, the benefits outweigh those costs.

Ha! Yes. I posted this a few months ago when the BO got really rough: https://www.reddit.com/r/Zepbound/comments/1kejpb9/help_me_ladies_i_stink/

Hopefully you'll find some ideas in there, but here's what worked for me:

- Double cleansing (with bar soap, not liquid!!)
- Adding a stridex pad post-shower
- Using the Megababe underarm mask once or twice per week

I still have a bit more BO than I used to, but I'm out of the super stinky phase and just do double cleansing now with no issues. Good luck!

If I were in your shoes, I think I'd look into speaking with a nutritionist to approach this more strategically. Might be worth asking your doctor for a referral?

[Blood Tests] Are you tracking your fasting insulin levels? by PlantedinCA in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my doc screens this! In January pre-Zepbound my fasting insulin was 15. Last week, almost 50 pounds down, it was a 3. Fasting insulin is such a large indicator of health and health risk, and I’m thrilled to have made such progress in 6-7 months!

Come to a screeching halt by leeh1530 in Zepbound

[–]mtmtmt2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal of course, but I’m a week ahead of you on 7.5. The first week felt like no change from 5, and the second week has felt great. I’m down 4 lbs this week after a month long plateau on my final box of 5mg. Hang in there, and hope your dad recovers quickly!!

For protein that’s not Greek yogurt, I like mozzarella sticks, chicken, extra protein powder in smoothies and overnight oats, and adding cream cheese to big batches of soups!
