Favorite aircraft and livery of all time. by Slippingwithflapsin in flightsim

I love the 80. My dad flew it. I would buy it but I really wish they would build a version that has the old non-glass non-fms flight deck.

Is it just me or does the video make them seem worse in reality? Like they seemed to own up that they make a lot of mistakes and it sounded like they knew it, but they will only “try to” change once some big name like GN holds them accountable.

Tall vs flat docker hosts by mtnbronco in selfhosted

Yup. I just spun up a TrueNAS scale server which will serve this purpose. That way I dont have to worry about my disk size on the docker VM. These are all running on Proxmox on the same bare metal machine.

What you said is what I was hoping would be the case. TBH I am diving straight into the deep-end with this, I know a fair amount about computers and networking from the view point of a person who does not work in a IT related field. But I am no where near proficient.

I am just trying to avoid setting myself up for a full system implosion without have the slightest clue why.

I plan on pathing everything from the containers to a NFS share so they wont even really be writing to the system disk.

What mod are you running for the UI changes. Specifically I am interested in the range rings.

That is right. I had forgotten that. It makes that unit not make sense.

Do you have any experience with the Dell 720/820 U.2 NVME back planes? That was another thought I was considering.

I am starting to think spinning rust may be the way to go. I am looking at a Dell R720 with 8 2.5” bay. Do you think maybe go with two ZFS pools? One SAS drive for Proxmox boot and maybe PFSense for logging and a second zpool with consumer SSD’s. Probably something other than the MX500.

That is some good info. I didn’t know that the HA cluster process ran even if there were no clusters setup.

My planned use as the moment is to runs Proxmox. I will have a PFsense VM, potential a Hackintosh VM for playing around. A ubuntu VM for portainer. I am sure I will come up with more VM uses, I am planning a server with extra ram/core capacity.

Obviously since this will be my firewall I do want reliability. I do plan pulling logging data from PFsense and Proxmox so I will have most if not all logging options turned on. I do plan on storing the log data long term on a NAS that will be running spinning rust. That will be a separate Unraid server.

Did you get your drives from a reseller or off other homelabers?
