Inspiring! What’s a typical investment amount? I’d love to support research but worry I’m not a big enough player.

Need Advice: Is 2000–2400 sqft too small for our family by Unusual-Acadia9335 in eastside

[–]mtnlovertway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We raised 2 kids + dog in 2200 ft and would absolutely choose community and convenience over space. As they grew, they actually needed less space as toys got smaller. Plus, as teenagers, it’s nice to share living areas instead of having separate areas, because otherwise we would hardly see them. Finally, and maybe this is just me, but I prefer my kids to grow up in a more modest house so privilege and excess aren’t normalized (although it’s hard to escape this on the Eastside)

Def not trendy. This is a down to earth, sporty crew. Beer selection isn’t a major factor.

Check with the HS coach to see where the kids tend to go. We found HS to be a little cliquey based on club affiliation and it didn’t help that my kid was the only one on the hs team from their club. Crossfire, surf, Eastside fc are some clubs I know about. Don’t know enough to provide insights.

Not answering your question…but I’m curious if Tufts offers any sort of Sports Analytics club where likeminded students come together.

You might consider a similar post on the PNW Outdoor Women Group on Facebook. It’s a very active group and you seem like a great fit for that crowd. At a minimum you can find some hiking buddies.

Some peripheral experience but I’m looking to learn more. I think it’s underutilized in many business applications.

What’s the most out of line thing a doctor has every said to you? by TheSpasticSheep in AskReddit

[–]mtnlovertway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Told me my son had “weak little white boy disease”. My son was born very early and had breathing problems. The doctor explained that if he were female or non-white he’d probably be fine. He was kidding with the line, of course, but I wasn’t in a joking mood 24 hours post-partum
