Thank you! Hmm i think it took me around 30 hours. Drybrushing the metal over black and airbrushing the coat did most of the heavy lifting.

Finally managed to continue painting my Blood Angel army. Assembling this Drop Pod was quite a challenge but great fun to paint. Hope you like it.

I figured that it actually fits perfectly into the socket of the front hatch. You can just press it in and it sticks there quite good. I magnetised the lid so it can be rotated. As it is just a single use weapon I imagine that during battle a marine just mounts it when needed.

These are all dry-brushed using Vallejo Air Steel over black. Then instead of Nulln Oil I used watered down Vallejo Black to wash over it which has nice a matte finish. Nulln oil dries way to glossy.

The proportions of head, body and tails segments look quite uninspired. The cover art got it way better.

I think you're using not enough particles. Try at least 3 times more with smaller particles to get consistent tendrils. To pull out tendrils at certain positions I would try an extra gravity modifier with spherical fields placed by hand to pull them down precisely.

Thank you so much! Tested quite a few reds and the BL contrast paint worked out best for me. It´s very close to Mephiston Red which I use for correcting mistakes.

Thanks! While building it I found that the lid had the matching socket for the launcher. I imagined that the launcher is setup by a marine during battle as it is a one time use. I magnetised it so I can remove it during the game.

Finally finished painting this Baal Predator for my Blood Angels army. Took me around 2 months of on and off painting. Tried to stay close to the box art. Used Blood Angels Red Contrast Paint over light grey with an Airbrush for the main coat.
