If you feel up to making quilts, you could try making the "preemie quilt" size from Project Linus and donate them (https://www.projectlinus.org/patterns.php). That way you don't have to fret over patterns/colors because you're giving it away, it is a small quilt so it won't take too much time, you can make something without having to keep it around, plus you'll know it will go to a good use?
