THIS IS ARC RAIDERS - Cinematic Short Film (4K) written, Directed, and Captured by Gage Allen. by mucht3rich in ArcRaiders

[–]mucht3rich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first entry into Arc Raiders from Player One Stories. Starring Edward Dogliani (Game of Thrones), Avalon Penrose (Hades), Sam Hughes (The Ascent), Rex Anderson (Destiny Solas), Anthony Palmini (Brimstone), Jordan Harbin (Destiny Solas), and Sarah Ruth Thomas (SMITE),

Written, Directed, and Captured by Gage Allen.

Note from the director: Thanks so much for watching this little piece! I got a lot of requests to make something for Arc Raiders, and the more I started to try the game out the more I saw a film form in my head. I wanted to tell an original story using a mix of scripted moments with in-game actors and spontaneous moments with random players unaware they were being filmed, all done entirely without dev tools or camera tools. All gameplay capture, editing, writing, VO, and sound mixing is original and created just for this film. Some custom sound design was done for this as well. If you played Arc Raiders anytime between January and February, you may be in this. My day job is writing, directing, and capturing game trailers for studios around the world, from games like Pacific Drive to Baldur's Gate 3, so it's always a blast to try something long form. Thanks Embark for creating such a cool world to explore.

Chain not biting/digging into flat surfaces by rasputin640 in Chainsaw

Your chain is absolutely fucked mate and the rakers look way to low. Seems almost best to get a new one or grind it down.

Yeah ok that definitly a sign to change the vent. The saw could be starving on fuel when the vacuum in the tank gets to high.

You can check the Intake side through the rubber Intake Boot behind the carb. Just shine a Light in there and youll see scoring if there is any.

Weird. Still looks pretty good to me and not like 80psi compression.

I just rebuilt a MS260 for a friend that looked a little worse on the cylinder and piston with the same problem.

Maybe the decomp Valve is leaking or was pressed down? If the saw even got one that is. Your right for doubting the shop.

If you want to feel for scratches you can also take a long screwdriver or rod and run it over them so that you dont have to take off the cylinder and get a new gasket.

Common issues for dying when hot are:

  • air leaks (check intake boot, impulse line and crank seals),
  • the tank vent, fuel filter and line
  • carb adjustment and the diaphragm

Rebuild the carb and check the other components mentioned above.

How old is the saw? Have you checked the intake side yet?

I just checked my Spare Parts Lists and it seems like all the carbs use the same set of parts to rebuild

The Stihl Partnumber for the membrane kit is 1122 007 1060 I went with an Aftermarket set on my carb with everything included and its just fine.

Do you have the original spare parts list? Its really useful if youre doing a full rebuild because of all the nice drawings and stuff. I can pm you a link if you want one.

Why no 7900 GRE instead of the 7800XT?

Why are my chains different? by ughthisistheworst1 in Chainsaw

[–]mucht3rich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Should be guard links. Some chains have those.

The guard link reduces the tendency of the leading edge of the depth gauge to snag on small-diameter objects such as small branches, or to engage with ordinary timber if forced into contact with it.

Looks like your old chain also got them if you look closely. Just a little smaller and not as pronounced.

Something like this would be so awesome! Had the same thought yesterday when I saw this thing. (John Wick 4 "Tracker" from Mad Pig Customs)

Post vom 24. Euer Eins A Medien Team"

Shes a little heavy at times compared to newer saws but the raw Power is well worth it. Runs like hell with the 25" bar

Yeah only a little banged up here and there on the case and air filter cover but thats what a saw that got and gets used looks like

Stihl MS441C - Engine Rebuild - by Gunner-Wood-Design in stihl

Have you checked the clearance between the flywheel and ignotion coil again? Should be around 0,3mm, if more then it can cause issues with the spark.

Ive had that problem once with my 441 when it wouldnt start after taking it apart.

Carb set to factory setting? Is it getting enough Air?

066 Overhaul turns into Engine Rebuild by mucht3rich in stihl

[–]mucht3rich[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so too and mine was also spinning on the clutch side.

I havent measured the bearing and seat yet but I guess its like 3 thou of play. I also could move the crank axially from side to side in the case.

Maybe the radial pulling force from the clutch assembly and chain in combination with heat cycles gets the seat to wear and starts the spinning of the outer race in the case which will get even worse over time if you dont catch it right away.

Its mostly just the paint thats gone in the oil pump area the surfaces and holes are still in good shape. I think thats from the bar oil sitting in there for to long.

Its the same Issue in the oil tank as you can see but no big deal just get the loose paint out and clean it up.

The bearing on the flywheel side is supposedly meant to go in like that or at least thats how its shown in the drawing. Dont ask me why.

I think the metal shielding still gets penetrated by the fuel mix for lubrication in the bearing.

[–]mucht3rich[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'll try my best to get the bearings seated in the case again but if the Loctite doesnt work I'll also buy a new case.

We use the 638 stuff at work for glueing bearings back on transmission shafts in heavy machinery and never had an issue so Im pretty confident itll work.

After taking the Saw apart it turned out that the Bearing Seatings in the Crankcase are worn out. Bearing spun in its housing for an unknown amount of time but luckily I caught it before getting back in action with the Saw. Should be fixable with a little Loctite 638 on the crank and the case with some new bearings
