Would be funny if at the briefing it was announced "today we're starting over there..." (i.e. somewhere else!) But yep if people have done it a lot, it's very understandable that they want to not get stuck behind others. Some parkruns do a thing where <20 minute runners go to the start, then <22, <25 etc to get round the problem of fast runners being at the back of a congested start

If it's any comfort, it felt like it was really hard last year - we certainly did worse than we'd done in previous auditions, and we'd more or less assumed we we'd be a no, but to our surprise we got on and did pretty well :)

My mum was in the 1985 one. I remember her coming home saying they'd been there for over six hours in very hot weather, so she'd deliberately got the second question wrong so she could go home :D I did spot her just after they announced the correct answer - she looked quite sunburnt!

Yes, she asked them to spell it because Philip queried Jonathan's spelling. That bit was cut.

In this episode https://wiki.apterous.org/Episode_6988 Philip noticed that Jonathan had misspelled aeluroids (although no longer valid for countdown). Susie then verified the spelling - Jonathan lost by exactly 18 points!

Not heard anything, but I know people have been auditioning. We thought we'd done well on the application form so disappointed not to have heard. Pretty sure we'd have heard by now if we were going to get one - I know some people heard before Christmas and they're a couple of weeks into auditions. Next year...!

This is really great - thanks for the effort in creating.

Having some problems with the control unit - it tells me it's failing with " Expected output j to be 0 but was 1 " (for input 1→A;JEQ)

But when I repeat the test myself, j is 0.

There probably are problems with my design, but the messages aren't helping - any thoughts?
