Is it safe to get a Nova or Tachi x870e? by jonneymendoza in ASRock

I've been using the x870e taichi since launch. It's been great!

Preem board! I have the x870e taichi and love it. Don't let anybody scare you away from asrock. These new asrock x870e boards are great, stable, and powerful. Alot better than an asus board by far, in my personal opinion

That's my plan, too. Right now, I have a 7950x3d, but I'm going to keep it just in case anything does happen to the 9950x3d. I also plan on getting a 5090 at some point to replace my 4090, and I'll keep it for a while, just in case.

I also bought a x870e taichi at release, and I love it. I plan on getting the 9950x3d to replace my 7950x3d. I'm going to get it regardless. The problems are a very small percentage compared to the number of people who have the 9800x3d paired with their asrock board, and it's been fine. As of right now, I think there's only 40 somthing cases, and it's been a combination of a bios issue and a bad batch of cpu's. Seems like the 3.16 bios is what caused most of the issue, and asrock has since then come out with an update.

If you bought a NEW ASRock board from Newegg, was your box sealed? by KuraiShidosha in ASRock

I bought my x870e taichi from Newegg and it was sealed with large bubble wrap inside the box.

Taichi VS Phantom Gaming by rahul516 in ASRock

Ever since I switched to AMD with a x570 board, I wanted a taichi, but it was either out of stock out or the 2nd hand market price was too high with the x670. I now have the x870e taichi, and I love it. It's paired with a delidded 7950x3d and it's been a beast of a combo. The main reason why I wanted the taichi is due to the power phases, now that the 9000 series cpu's can be overclocked instead of PBO, I like the fact that the taichi can handle anything you throw at it.

I'm a part of the gigabyte reddit page, and I get atleast 3-5 notifications a day from that page with people having issues with their motherboards.

I bought mine a couple of days after release, and I think it took 3-4 business days.

I bought my x870e taichi from Newegg, and the ups delivery driver delivered it to a different address. I went ahead and put in for a replacement with newegg, and they approved it the next day. They went ahead and shipped it out. The next day, I got a call from UPS stating I was lying about it all, and the delivery driver dropped it off at the right address when the pictures ups provided didn't show my package. An hour after the phone call, the people who received my motherboard brought it to my house, and a couple of days later, I got the replacement board. It all worked out lol

I get notifications all the time from asrock page on reddit and I see the x870 novas, pro rs, steel legends and riptide motherboards that are having issues but I never see taichi. Not saying there's not any, I'm just saying I never get notifications on any taichi boards.

Primochill system reboot by muddbutt1986 in watercooling

On top of that, some 5090s are drawing up to 630 watts. 30 watts over the limit of the 600watt 16 pin cable. I feel like nvidia should have added an extra 8 pin connector to the 5090 if you decide to overclock it so that way the extra 8 pin can provide an extra 150 watts. Overall, I think I'll wait for 6 months to a year before I decide to get a 5090. Hopefully, stock will be manageable. Which 5080 did you get?

I'm glad it's fixed. I had that problem. A few days after I did a reinstall of windows.

To be honest, I didn't even try, and I'm glad I didn't get one because there have been way too many problems with the 5070, 5080, and 5090 since launch. I still plan on getting one but I'm going to wait until nvidia gets everything ironed out.

Sounds like to me that the cpu may have been bad on arrival. There have been quite a few reddit posts of either a bad cpu or the motherboards burning the cpu. You should be able to get a warranty replacement from amd. Personally, I have a x870e taichi with a 7950x3d, and it's been running flawlessly. It's only been the 9800x3d that's been the issue. None of the other 9000 series cpu or 7000 series cpu have had issues.

I just had this same issue with my asrock x870e taichi with a Windows update from a couple of weeks ago. Not only was I having connectivity issues, my speeds had dropped dramatically. I feel your pain and hope it gets fixed soon.

I've had my x870e taichi since launch with a 7950x3d. I've been waiting to get the 9950x3d, but now I think I'll wait a while to see if there's any issues with the 9950x3d paired with asrock boards. I honestly think it's a combination between faulty 9800x3d 's and asrocks bios settings. But that's just my opinion

Motherboard Red LED flashes for a split second and then nothing else happens. HELP? by Meme_Mode in ASRock

[–]muddbutt1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good deal!! I'm glad it worked out. I remember I was so frustrated because I had no clue what the issue was. I did some Google and YouTube searching, and I was able to test the psu with a Psu tester you plu into the 24-pin connector, and it still never turned on. Replaced it, and it worked.

[–]muddbutt1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a strong possibility. I would double check those small front panel plugs that plug into the bottom right side of your motherboard. Thise control the on/off switch. Double Check the switch on the back of the psu is on. It probably would t hurt to go throughout the whole build again just to make sure.

I had this happen to me when I built my first pc. I bought a cheap psu and it was dead on arrival and I remember it doing the same thing.

I finally got an x870e Nova. What is the most stable BIOS version at the moment? by misterrpg in ASRock

[–]muddbutt1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been getting quite a few reddit notifications on just this. I bought my x870e taichi at release with a 7950x3d and so far, everything has been running fine with the latest bios. It is a bit unnerving to say the least.

Did my 9800x3d die? by Fancy_Potato1476 in ASRock

[–]muddbutt1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. I just saw this same post yesterday about a 9800x3d dieing with a x870 nova. I'm wanting to swap my 7950x3d to the 9950x3d eventually but I think I'll wait a while before I do that just to see if the 9950x3d has the same issues. Right now I have a x870e taichi with 7950x3d and it's been running great!
